Cons
Ueno, like much of the design community in the Bay (and beyond), is a place where white men excel. Promotions, leadership opportunities, and leadership as a whole are tremendously lacking in diversity. And that makes it a less than inviting place if you happen to not be white. We talk a big game, espouse to be liberal and progressive, but the headshots don't lie. On the work front, we design beautifully. But often that design doesn't serve a real purpose or make a big impact in people's lives.
