Pros

- Good Salary - Competitive (£29,000 + £6,000 travel allowance) - Kind Workers - As a whole is a very nice company with lots of very nice people. - Good Location - Offices are based in Central London, newly refurbished and very high end. - Exposure - Working in high end divisions on large scale projects - offers high degree of experience.

Cons

The Cons relate to the role and department and not to the company as a whole, as those in a similar experienced role in other departments could not suggest the same. - Poor management - I was hired as a 'graduate' but expectation was to work excessive hours with little to no communication. - Differences to contract - role was advertised as middle-house, then on induction was told it was back of house, this meant you were on a floor away from the rest of the company with little to no interaction with the rest of the company and a lack of interaction in my team. - No training for a 'graduate' role, run down by manager when you cannot perform tasks that you have not been trained for. - Excessive hours compared to contract - contracted hours from 8:30 - 5:30, however, I never left earlier than 6:15, with most days being in office until 7:00pm, when asking to leave on time to make doctors appointments I was told that I had a job to do and could only leave when done, I was also constantly 'reminded' (threatened) that during my 6 months notice I am on 1 weeks notice and if I don't do as they please they would get someone else in to replace. - The role is monotonous, you complete the same 5-10 tasks at the same time every day, there is no variation to the work and no view of exposure to other areas of the department, this isn't a graduate role, but a role where they hire a graduate to perform the same tasks for several years as they can be hired on a cheaper rate than an experienced professional, the person I worked alongside performed the same tasks as me every day, there was nothing graduate about this role. - No company culture in the back of house roles, I was twice invited by other graduates to social events after work and denied by my boss as I had to finish my tasks (which could be done from home), keeping me past 7:00pm on both occasions to make a point. - I was hired on a contract which allows 4 work from home days a month, I was then informed after I started by my boss that I would be unable to take any until I was several months in, after a month I asked as it was in my contract could I work from home once a week, just to get my outside of work life sorted as I was working 8:30am-7:00pm every day often leaving the house near 7:00a,m and not getting home until 8:30pm, she once again threatened me with my notice period. - The back of house roles lack diversity in the work place and I was included in emails, Whatsapp groups and general conversation where Mandarin was the primary language used, they would sometimes revert to English for my purpose but often revert back which made learning on the job very difficult. I could go on and actually sent a complaint to HR, however, they stated they would look into it and never did which created a working environment I could no longer work in.

Pros

Insurance. Bonus was good, but they pay very late in the season, most people left within 2 years, so technically you only get one year of full bonus.

Cons

The management was very impersonal, most are Chinese expats, operation manager is micromanaging, condescending, one of the worst in the industry, she will write you up for not obeying her advices, in a very sneaky way.
