Pros

Free coffee The office is in a good location.

Cons

Working at Tigera was the worst professional experience of my life. Don’t let it be yours. The OTE they quote you is absolute nonsense. When I was interviewing, I asked how many people on the team are hitting quota, to which they replied 'they all are'. When in truth, the only person on my team who hit quota had been there for 3 years - all others missed significantly. This was the beginning of a journey full of lies. Tigera and I started out on the wrong foot, when they schemed my contract. Because you don't get a territory for 3 months (no opportunity to do outreach whatsoever), Tigera 'provide' guaranteed commission for the first quarter. This is very common and designed to make the transition from earning a good salary to not hitting quota right away easier. In my case, Tigera decided to change the contract from being paid after 6 months to being paid 15 months after I started. This is unheard of and completely defeats the purpose. The training was a disgrace. I had 4 training sessions, 2 of which were repeats of the first 2 because they hired another rep in Ireland who needed some training too. I noticed that I wasn't getting any training, so I reached out to the individual responsible on Jan 14. I got a reply on March 2 about something else, my question about training was completely ignored, I just got a response because I brought up a deal I had.. Attention is given to money, attention is not given to people. Something they say about why sales AEs don't work out at Tigera is because the technology is too difficult for them. This is nonsense, it is the easiest excuse to externalize blame and diminish the intelligence of your former employees. If you're a candidate and you don't believe me, go on LinkedIn Sales Nav and search for former AEs at Tigera and you will notice many who have left after less than a year. Outbound has never worked at Tigera (hence the very few clients), and it's simply too niche and its use case is too specific to drive cold outbound interest, so be mindful that North America gets enough inbounds for 2 Enterprise reps, and enough inbounds for 1-2 mid market reps (max.). If they have reached this number already, don't expect to make any commission. The marketing team is a complete disaster. It's honestly like a far fetched comedy skit. Marketing fabricates data, blames sales, sales provides feedback, marketing creates a new report to divert attention and continue a cycle of fabrication, manipulation and gaslighting. I tried to provide feedback many times, and was ignored many times. The CMO, Utpal, very successfully fools the CEO, Ratan, it seems. Either that, or it would seem that they’re complicit in the lies in an attempt to get acquired. If you’re applying for an Engineering role, you likely wouldn't experience many of these situations, but you should know the CTO resigned, and so did his successor.. There is a serious diversity problem.

Micromanagement from Senior Leadership

Pros

Some really great (and talented) people to work alongside Great technology and budget made available for software. Good compensation Great place to work for software engineers. Surprisingly more processes in place than expected

Cons

Very little freedom to do a job with autonomy - surprising from a start-up when one expects to be able to bring some ideas to the table. Lots of micro-management and a real culture of mis-trust - particularly coming from the CEO. High turnover across the organisation Lack of any formalised learning

Pros

- Great benefits - Remote first - No real expectation of success

Cons

- Low pay (they attempt to pay as low as possible and hire people with no experience). - Extremely niche industry, cold-calling is essentially impossible. - Marketing completely fakes their numbers and information to make it look as positive as possible while simultaneously trying to blame sales for not getting 20% of the leads as handovers (they actually said people should be converting 20% of the coldest leads you can imagine, the team might be getting 0.00% - 0.01%?) - Marketing recycles leads and pretends they're hot. - Complete fabrication about the opportunity. Specific people with the best opportunity get almost all the real inbound. - Multiple heads of engineers have left the company, and all the founders have left the company. At this point, it just looks like they have been hiring to make an exit. - Marketing is in charge of sales, somehow. - ZERO chance of real success, completely fabricated opportunity. You are hired and will fail, regardless of personal effort or output. - Tons of gaslighting

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Your review states that you're a current employee, however based on the level of frustration you seem to have experienced, it is presumed that you may have recently left our organization to begin a new chapter in your career. Either way, it's unfortunate that you felt you had to post your frustrations here and after the fact, rather than express your challenges as they arose with your manager and/or a member of our leadership team through the numerous feedback channels that we provide, so that we could have addressed and resolved your concerns with you in a proactive manner. We recognize that Cloud and Container Security is a new and technically complex domain. We have developed training to help new team members understand this domain better and on-board but we also recognize that this domain may not be suitable for everyone based on their previous experience and background. We are constantly working on assessing this fit during the interview cycle and continue to improve on this front. We work diligently to ensure that our employees are provided a competitive total rewards package and we've curated a strong support network for those who may need some additional enablement in their roles, especially those who are new to our solution and organization, and may need a slightly longer ramp time. Many members of our sales team are thriving and are on track to hit accelerators this year, so it sounds like the opportunity may simply have not been the right fit for you, which we are truly sorry to hear. We are sorry that things didn't work out at Tigera, however we wish you the very best in the next chapter and hope you find happiness and fulfillment in your next opportunity.
