Pros

1. Despite the problems that the company has faced since merging there are some very capable and ethical individuals who, despite the response and treatment they receive on almost a daily basis, will continue to stride for a higher standard than that currently being set by senior management. 2. The mass exodus of people has created a network of people across the city and sector that is valued on a professional and personal basis. It’s not a club I wanted to join but every cloud... 3. Front Office leadership team that really understand the business. 4. There are pockets of good people I thoroughly enjoyed working with.

Cons

- I left firmly believing that it is an organisation based on “the more of a bully you are the further you’ll go”. If you’re mates with one of the bullies you’ll be ok. If not, best change trains. - Horrendous infrastructure and demanding managers. - The HR team was by far one of the worst areas I have seen and feel sorry for those who work in it.The bullying culture in the team was widely discussed across the business , alleged perpetrators know and complaints/concerns ignored. The turnover in itself should have led to an independent investigation, never mind the official complaints that were raised and ignored. - If you’re not white and straight it’s also probably not a place for you, if you feel that’s wrong, then it’s also not a place for you but reassure yourself with the fact that you have ethics and a soul. - Business heads often handicapped in their roles, to the detriment of the business. - Generally, one of the worst organisations I have worked for. It’s like sitting on a train with no break...jump before it crashes.

Pros

Absolutely no pros working here

Cons

Work culture is extremely toxic, management are shockingly poor, provide little support, take no responsibility and quick to throw you under the bus. The senior management team display poor leadership skills, fostering an environment of favouritism, making progress difficult for those who aren't among their chosen favorites. Arrogance and ego prevalent amongst management ( you are literally just a number). Additionally, no adequate training for new hires, sink or swim attitude, contributing to a challenging onboarding process. The high staff turnover further underscored the systemic issues within the company. Micromanagement and clock watching - you might as-well live in the office if you want to get noticed. Overall, it was a disheartening and unwelcoming work environment that needs significant improvements and new management, perhaps management courses should be offered to “senior managers”. HR are also useless and provide little support to employees, nothing is confidential! For anyone joining finance believe the reviews you read - do not waste your time!

Pros

I suppose tea and coffee is free. Colleagues are generally ok. Headline pay is average, but would want to be more for the misery that is inflicted on you.

Cons

Where to start. When I started I was told this was a great and exciting role with lots of positive transformation happening. Lots of change is happening, but it isn't good. Developers doing the work are generally good and know what they are doing, but are totally hampered by project/senior management that have no clue how to run IT projects. The projects themselves are using legacy technology and there's no desire to modernize. Trying to suggest any improvement you might as well smash your head off the wall. The worst part is that any criticism of the existing processes will come back at you negatively, it is best to just keep your head down and fight the fires that go on. The whole modus operandi with this company is to do things as cheap as possible (this is why they are sacking London workers and replacing them with Belfast/offshore). Quality engineering practices are not really a consideration and it really does show in management's attitude
