Bonus is ok, dependant on performance (company not individual) Impossible to get fired unless you REALLY mess up or they have to shout at you more than once a week. you can be totally incompetent and as long as you hide behind emails and talk a good game you will be fine. Doesn't really matter if you fail or succeed with your appraisal targets, no one else looks at them until the next one.. rarely measurable and easily talked your way out of.. they still won't fire you..
Cons
Zero chance of realistic career progression in any department Inequality of pay is rampant I have seen EUR15k difference between people doing the same job Some serious issues with competency and understanding in senior management (some action seems to be happening but NOT removal)
