Pros
You can get promotions fast as the turnover rate is very high. You get experience managing hard situations Flexibility. You can work from home 3/4 days a week.
Cons
You are on your own. No training. No SMEs. You are lucky if you have a supervisor. Management and mid-level management are too busy to work with you, train you, and give you directions. Projects are all under budget and you will have to manage the situation. Management prioritizes low cost over quality. Dissatisfied vendors and sub-contractors as their payments are over 6 months overdue. Hard to keep project on schedule as the quality of work is low and payments cant be made. Very high turnover rate. It's hard to build relationships and all capable and knowledgeable employees will leave after a few months.
