"... even in 2005-2006, the SAME issues are here." Since this person worked at "Studies Weekly" so long ago this is an opportunity to review what's happened since then. In 2005-2006 "Studies Weekly, Inc" was literally a different company. It was one of six companies producing publications with the brand name "Studies Weekly." Our company's corporate name back then was American Legacy Publishing, Inc. We were one of those six companies that published Studies Weekly brand publications. We were founded in 1996. American Legacy Publishing acquired the last of the other five companies in 2008. We changed our corporate name to Studies Weekly, Inc. in 2013 to match our publication branding. Further, the reviewer wrote, "I don't know if the founders are still 'part of the board...'" The founders of that company's board moved on when we acquired their company in 2007. We've been blessed these past 22 years to recruit an amazing team of former teachers, editors, authors, illustrators, graphic designers, computer programmers, film editors, customer service professionals and many other wonderful operations personnel. At the time this reviewer worked at our sister company, Studies Weekly publications were in less than .005% of classrooms nationwide. Today we're in 16% of all public and private classrooms in the United States. Recently, Studies Weekly K-6 was state adopted by California as a primary ‘textbook’ resource — our 15th adoption by a state board. Plus, we're in 100% of Jamaican fourth-grade classrooms. Yeah, mon! I wish this person well and sincerely hope that he or she has found, or soon will find, a position with a greater sense of purpose in another pursuit—something that proves to be a blessing. No hard feelings. Ed Rickers CEO

Pros

Friendly environment, monthly BBQs, good benefits, PTO, free veggies and fruits every day, inexpensive massages, etc. Lots of opportunities for growth and competitive pay.

Cons

Studies Weekly is all in all a good place, but there are definitely some issues with management. The company as a whole struggles with communication and many things don't make it from the top down. Many decisions are also made spontaneously without a lot of thought, such as which projects to invest in and which employees to keep. They're a bit too trigger-happy when it comes to firing employees and many people have felt uncomfortable that their job could be taken away at any moment.

No dead end job anywhere here. -They listen and help guide you to what you want to do and excel in that area.

Cons

Maybe if work wasn't as fun I wouldn't delay starting a family.
