Pros

StriveTogether is one of the best employers in Cincinnati , based on my past few years of experience. If you are looking for a place to work to challenge yourself and grow professionally when receiving decent pay and benefit and reaching work life balance, this is the best workplace. Compared with peer nonprofit organizations. StriveTogether offers its employee full benefits ( medical and dental benefits, 401k matching, 15 vacation days, 4 PTO days etc. per year) along with very competitive salary. In addition, StriveTogether team embraces diversity and racial equity, meaning StriveTogether team is already diversified and fun to work with.

Cons

StriveTogether is a national organization with remote employees all over the country. So travel to Cincinnati headquarter quarterly is normally required for remote employees, which is not a cons but a way of building the connections needed among its employees i

Pros

Transparency from leadership Great value on employee work/life balance Space for celebrration of personal and role progress Great benefits + bonus +paid holidays Great exposure to a range of work (depending on department)

Cons

While the leaders do care a lot about work balance and there are lots of ammenities in place (personal days, vacation, flex-time, etc.) at the end of the day the actual work must be done and there simply isn't enough hours in the day. Late nights are often where work spills over and it creates a tension in wanting to stop but not being able to. Combined with the nature of doing anti-racist work it can create fatique. This is not uncommon in non-profits, but it takes setting strong boundaries and being intentional in not seeking perfection in everything at all levels. We are getting there - for new folks applying continue to set that balance from the beginning and you'll likely have a great experience.
