Pros

Promising and ambitious project that seems to still be doing alright financially possibly?

Cons

The company used to have an awesome team, but almost the entire team has quit or been fired in the last like 8 months. The CEO went nuts with narcissism and started making crazy demands of everyone and aggressively leading the project in bad directions. Quality and stability of the project went way down. Everybody left. Before the crisis I might have said it was an okay place to work, I enjoyed my time there for the most part because the rest of the team was awesome and was very close, despite the fact that the CEO was always hard to deal with and the pay was not great. But that team and that culture is completely gone now, and all that's left is this one bad leader and a bunch of remote contractors. Pay is way below average, and no benefits. Basically no upsides here. Other than that they will hire just about anybody, if you're willing to suck up to the boss real hard. So some people found it a way to get a foot in the door in the video game industry.

Pros

- Good people, except for the CEO - Very flexible work environment - Relaxed atmosphere

Cons

- No benefits. No 401k, no health insurance, weak stock option plan. No formal vacation policy. - CEO is a micromanager; has trouble delegating any task not outside his specific skill set. - Complete lack of direction; CEO changes goals on a whim without informing team. Almost no long term planning - CEO repeatedly isolates themselves from team; takes feedback very poorly; turns to insults when confronted - CEO is a narcissist, overly promotes his own accomplishments and rarely those of the team - CEO is thrilled with basic tasks getting completed that he had any involvement over, but ignores larger tasks developed by others, values employees who are subservient to him more than those with more experience - CEO refuses to allow his work to be changed by any member of the team - Overly lax work environment results in lazy employee atmosphere; being late or calling in "sick" or working from home happens frequently - Exploits cheap external labor to the detriment of in-office employees
