Incredible potential handicapped by an individual

Pros

The founders are incredibly humble and passionate people, unafraid to own failures or admit mistakes. The company is mostly made up of amazing, kind, and compassionate people.

Cons

I've never experienced a position like this before with any job. Nor have I worked with, for, along side of, or even previously supervised anyone where I've experienced another another human being with anything near the size of the CTO's ego. They would regularly used dehumanizing language, always being sure to create moral distance between themselves and you. Never one to "own up" to things, they always deflected and redirected anything they perceived could reflect them in a negative light. I feel like it goes without saying that in no timeline should working for a company feel reminiscent to being in an abusive relationship. I would say working for an individual, but the CTO felt like they deserved a say in everything....regardless of whether you worked in "technology" or any other department that reported to an entirely different C-Suite member....Until those (frankly) narcissistic behaviors are addressed, the CTO's behavior will undermine everything the company wants to be as a virtuous leader in Blockchain gaming.

Volatile market with a lot of layoffs, company shrunk drastically in my time there, unfocused direction and mismanaged projects hurt the business' potential
