Pros

While working here I've met many bright, dedicated and kind people i can call my friends.

Cons

It's truly hard to find right words to describe most recent fiasco at Smule, as I'm still trying to wrap my head around what actually happened. In a nutshell, Smule's upper management have got themselves into a huge mess, and instead of admitting fault and taking responsibility for their incompetency, they decided to put a blame on and terminate an entire department of 12! Those who spent years working days and nights to deliver Smule's products and always believed in company's values and mission. What we got in return was a false accusation and humiliation. My last day at the company was a nightmare. I can only guess who was that genius who thought that it would be a great idea to intimidate their employees through a detective-style interrogation putting extreme stress and confusion onto the whole team. I never expected something like this to happen at the place that was like my second family for many many years. I understand that sometimes various business decisions will require letting people go, which is a normal process. So if, let's say, a company would want to move your position to another country, there are many nice ways of communicating and handling this matter so that everyone will be satisfied. But no, not at Smule. This amazing business entity will treat you like a criminal, accuse you of some bogus violations, which they will never disclose to you, and send home with your personal items in a brown paper bag... Over many years of employment I've seen examples of managerial immaturity and lack of professionalism but Smule just showed me a new low... To my former colleagues: I hope this will be a wake up call for anyone who still thinks that Smule's executives are following same core values that they have been preaching during our dashboards... To anyone who considers applying: Don't

Pros

- Breakfast/Lunch Provided - WFH - Unlimited PTO (conditional) - Good Location

Cons

- Childish, Immature Upper Management/Executive team - Finger Pointing Culture - Product team pretty much runs as an enforcement unit over engineering - Do you like metric oriented goals? This company has plenty of made up metrics for you! - Scapegoating when poorly planned initiatives fail
