This place has lost its heart.

Pros

Coworkers who are dedicated to doing a job and are smart and caring. Free snacks and sodas. I can't think of anything else but this space requires 20 words.

Cons

In the past two years, SRM has changed from a place where all people matter to a top-heavy oligarchy where the bigwigs make all the decisions and those of us who do the actual work--and know the clients best--have no say. You are expected to work nights, weekends, and holidays. The most shameful thing, though, is that SRM treats its freelancers terribly--most freelancers don't get paid until long after their contract terms and usually have to ask for payment repeatedly.

Pros

Some wonderful and talented people work here, and are really trying to make a difference in education.

Cons

Everything else. Please apply here if you're into half-truths shared by an unnecessarily secretive senior management team, want to be part of a shrinking organization run by a private equity firm that has no clear idea on how to right the sinking ship and will sell the company as soon as it possibly can, get excited by the prospect of frequent and seemingly random terminations/layoffs, and want to stay in the same job title at the same salary for the foreseeable future. Everyone I work with (including me) in all three US locations and India is looking to get out ASAP before we get laid off, so there may be openings in the near future. Or not, since the $ books are balanced by not filling positions.

Focus on great minds and ideas

Pros

Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people. Six Red Marbles has been in business for 20 years. Happy Anniversary! People at Six Red focused on how to make things better, how to improve, and how to impact education and learning. Keep positive please on ideas...on the future, for children and adults. For clients. And for a higher purpose toward learning and education. Growth of people and clients were important in the past, no matter what stresses were encountered. Stay focused on your future and ways of achieving. Help new people and new hires understand the importance of ideas, not criticism of present or former staff.

Cons

The roots of Six Red Marbles were born out of beautifully designed products, its clients, its service, its quality. There were three founders through a merger of three organizations between 2008-2011 and three additional exec team members who believed in overachieving for clients, in absolute quality, in service, and in giving through 2014. The leadership team also consisted of many directors, so please remember when you criticize "former management" that you criticize the directors you promoted to VPs in 2014 and who still work for you or who left the organization between 2014-2016 as your VPs. Six Red hired very strong people and very diverse people--unique styles were welcome not criticized. Six Red operated in a very quick, fast-paced environment. I fear the culture of openness, agility and creativity isn't the same anymore. Let go of your fears...whatever they may be. Generate new followers with innovative ideas and new ways of doing things.
