Pros

As with any company some good people work here. If you spend all your time on Twitter talking politics you’ll be in good company.

Cons

Before reading!! Sisense went through a period of fluffing reviews so please scroll past the random onslaught of 5 star reviews. They are so clearly fluff. There was a mass effort to boost the ratings because hiring is not going well. Ok, read on I cannot stress it enough. DO NOT WORK HERE. It gets worse by the day. It’s extremely toxic. The management is horrendous. This is top down, HR, finance, and mid management. There are a couple decent managers so not all are terrible but most are poison. Management for sales is mostly very mediocre AE’s who showed loyalty to HR or made a senior level friend and got promoted. This ultimately translates to you taking ORDERS from someone who wasn’t good at their job to begin with. Sales cycles are “lie about the competitors as often as possible”. Sisense is being sued for this (public knowledge). You will spend a significant amount of your week listening to unstable people yell about politics. You can join a movie club with the unstable and then discuss political movies at 1pm on a Thursday. If you are like me you can close a deal and argue with finance for two weeks, get no support from management, and ultimately get paid 4-7% less than you are supposed to. Do you enjoy sifting through 250 companies in Syracuse New York only to find out that 240 of them are out of business? This job is for you! Do you love forcing a technology on people that is full of bugs and overly expensive for what it is? Sign up today. HR lost their only hope long ago. Most of the C-levels need to retire or something. Maybe go purchase a cruise ship and sail off far away and have a party where they can all sit in a circle and pat one another on the back for tanking a company that once had a future. Do you enjoy having a mediocre AE who has the title Manager message you on Slack asking you why you don’t have 80 dials a day? Sign up today. Do you enjoy people adding you to slack channels where you can read their political beliefs? Sign up today! Have you ever had sales enablement mid convo go into a political rant? You are missing out!! Truly. It happens. Read reviews Family member passes away and you want an excuse not to attend the funeral? Sisense has the most legitimate excuse. You will be fired if you even think about attending!! (Read reviews below, this isn’t isolated). Are you an older person looking to get fired? Sign up today! Truly. It happens. Read reviews Woman looking to get fired? Sign up today. Truly. It happens. Read reviews Are you Asian? Read some reviews below. You can certainly get fired too if you sign up! Want to see the laziest/worst AE on your team get promoted to be your manager. Oh yes, sign up today! Truly. It happens. Read reviews Do you enjoy claw backs? This place is for you. Truly. It happens. Read reviews. There was once a time Sisense was great. The ship has sailed and sunk. Sisense is not a start up. Sisense is an 18yo (officially) company. The term start up is used to justify mass exodus.

Marching Off a Cliff

Pros

Things have gone well until a year ago when the new CEO decided to over-hire in an attempt to grow, and lost the company’s soul. I strongly suggest candidates to skip this place altogether. It might be a different situation in Israel, but in the US the majority of the experienced employees (Sales, Marketing, HR) are disillusioned and lost their passion because abusive supervision is the norm and because they are being micromanaged by bosses who must be in control (so much so that they insist on being cc’d on your emails or make you wait while they put their own touches).

Cons

The recent negative reviews are 100% accurate. Unfortunately, it's classic Sisense to post a single cold CEO response, without acknowledging the issues, but instead pretending as if they don’t exist (“I urge employees to call me anytime on my mobile” yeah, right). Ask anyone who joined in the past 24 months if our CEO care about individuals, our happiness, personal growth, success, career path. Ask about discriminatory hiring policies, specifically in reference to senior leadership roles. Ask about leadership integrity.
I really hope someone wakes up quickly. As things stand at the moment and based on our CEO’s lack of action, management is marching off a cliff. Too bad our condescending toxic managers are protected as they’re part of the inner circle. Unfortunately there’s a great deal of frustration and things will fall apart soon.

Pros

I have met some great co-workers, platform is solid, offices are nice and the people team is great. The people team does a lot of fun activities.

Cons

They make you sign a contract that says they can change your comp plan at anytime and it has twice in less than a year. The sales leadership is driving people out with broken promises, unobtainable quotas and crappy territories unless you are one of the chosen few. It used to be a place were they cared and people could speak up, but now since Covid nobody says anything yet they keep having these ask the CEO anything zoom meetings, a year ago everyone was speaking up nobody held back. with the current leadership on the call that has egos bigger than anyone in tech is covering up everything. Nobody is going to speak up we just leave. If you complain they never do anything so people just leave. The main US guy has his fixers below him that run interference. If you speak up expect to go on a PIP and be micromanaged until you are so miserable you quit. Our office has gone down by over 50%, only a few people were laid off due to Covid so they are desperately hiring anyone that will take a job with zero qualifications and proclaiming we are growing. We are not growing. They can’t even backfill the people quitting. I just quit and was offered significantly more money and you keep raising quota pulling ramps and have territories that are weighted with quotas not reflecting potential.

Sisense Response

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Sisense is undergoing a massive transformation at this time and it’s absolutely understandable that some may not agree with or like too much change at one time. This is why it’s important to communicate any frustrations to your manager. These conversations help bring more clarity to an evolving situation. For example, the right to compensation changes is a term all companies maintain and our sales quotas are one of the lowest in the BI industry. We actually had 40%+ of AE's exceed their quarterly targets in Q1. With that said, I understand that not meeting quotas can lead to feelings of being overwhelmed or even burnout and that is something many Account Executives face in the sales industry and are actively trying to find solutions to lessen the impact of this issue. Remote work for a company like Sisense has been challenging. This can be largely attributed to the fact that our Sisensers thrive off of each other and have very much enjoyed our in-person events. Company wide town halls over zoom make it more challenging to speak up that is true but that hasn’t stopped Sisensers from talking directly with managers or leadership about their concerns and we’re very grateful for that. Turnover is typical for most startup companies like ours and there will always be a few people who weren’t a good fit but we take that as lessons learned and aim to do better the next time around. There are countless examples of individuals we’ve taken a chance on who have exceeded our expectations so we will continue to take the risk from time to time. All in all, you’ve raised some interesting issues that we will further explore internally. Thank you again for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Respectfully, Jeff Dyer SVP - Sales
