Pros
The Western Management was always friendly and approachable, and genuinely had our best interests at heart.
Cons
The Western staff was always hobbled by an utterly incompetent bunch of "contact people" who made it their priority to fill their days with pointless paperwork procedures in order to avoid actually doing any kind of real sales/liaison work. One staff member sent all materials to the wrong client as we were beginning a weeklong residential intensive course for one of Japan's biggest companies. We learned this half an hour before we were due to go in for a nie-hour teaching day, which we then had to improvise. When we got the feedback from the clients, teachers were blamed. Then, the day before we were entitled to permanent employment (having worked for 5 years on renewable contracts), the company closed down the section in which we all worked, and told us to apply for a job with one of their sister companies. All Japanese staff were retained. A really despicable company.
