Pros

Got few nice team mates

Cons

The VP of this organization doesn't have any kind of professionalism and work ethics. It is disappointing to witness the lack of competence and leadership displayed in his role. The project under his supervision was poorly planned, with a codebase so substandard that it was destined to fail. His indifference to code quality and failure to hold his team accountable for their work clearly demonstrate his inability to oversee a meaningful and sustainable project. His understanding of project management and technology is severely lacking. The only way to sustain under his leadership is to constantly portray and showcase your work and if you are good in fooling the stakeholder and lying you will consider as a smart , as he is only not technically sound , so he wont consider your technical expertise , you are a good employee only when you are good in manipulating and fooling . If you’re not good at presenting your contributions, he won’t recognize your efforts, making it difficult to receive appraisals or appreciation. This highlights how blind he is in terms of understanding technology and the actual work being done. His lack of familiarity with modern technologies and refusal to stay updated only worsens the situation. By treating every employee, senior and junior, as though they possess the same level of experience and skill, and making baseless comparisons, he demonstrates unprofessional behavior. As he lacks knowledge of the technology, he assumes all employees are the same regardless of their experience. This failure to recognize and nurture talent has led to a chaotic and demotivated team environment. Adding to the chaos, the way he assigns tasks is laughable. Just before catching a flight, he spares 10-20 minutes to skim through tasks. Without analyzing the depth or complexity of the work, he assigns tickets and even provides estimations based solely on the headings. This only highlights how poorly suited he is for the role of a self-proclaimed "Technical Head." Moreover, his blatant favoritism has created a toxic workplace and fights within the team. Granting special privileges like hybrid work, work-from-home options, and excessive appreciation to a select few, while denying the same to others, is unprofessional and discriminatory. His work ethics shift conveniently depending on the person—while he denies even a single day of WFH for normal employees, citing difficulty in tracking their 9-hour workday, his favorite employees have been enjoying WFH for ages without issue. The irony is that this doesn’t seem to bother him, likely because he himself is working from home. Even when employees raised concerns about this bias, he responded with empty promises, further proving his lack of integrity and fairness. His management style has not only hampered project success but also destroyed team morale. It’s unfortunate that instead of fostering a productive and inclusive environment, he has turned the workplace into a breeding ground for favoritism, hypocrisy, and mediocrity.

Pros

Good Tech Stack to work on.

Cons

The current head of technology is a very very unpredictable person to work with. He encourages overworking and toxic work culture and makes fun of burnout issues in employees. Any personal commitment or time off is looked down upon. Some actions of the manager are straightforward insulting towards female employees and talking to the HR only leads to a fake consolation call. Very smart internal politics and promotion to only those people who agree to be slaves of the tech unit head. He has no understanding of the underlying technology but uses fancy words to cover up his lacking and misunderstandings.

Pros

It is not a software company. It is a medical scribing company which is trying to become a software company. so basic SLDC process is not known/followed. after sorting the review section with low rating, you may see a set of reviews which are mentioning the software dept & head of technology. I saw those before joining and took it as a grain of salt. I am still regretting it. Only Pro which helped me to stay for almost a year is the bunch of teammates & colleagues who were willing to learn new things, discuss with others & help them voluntarily in their free time 🖖🖖🖖

Cons

tldr; - No proper team structure - No proper plan for development & release hence No Work Life Balance - Hostile behavior is never even acknowledged as hostile. - Salary date is 5th/6th DOM. <<----- Rant ----->> Discussing the requirements, data patterns, code structure & concepts in a meeting would exactly feel like that you are in the "Lord of the Flies" island since the aforementioned head won't be available mostly (he will be always in WFH or WFO from a different location than the team). For Ex., I was explaining storing a data in Local Storage browser API & it was asked to be avoided by a set of team mates who have 5 YOE. the reason - "It will occupy RAM space." During my tenure, the release will be postponed to the end of next quarter on the day of release. my tenure ended 6 months back. still the project is not in production. the whole Dev & QA team is working from January 2024 on minimum of 2 weekends per month. You will be working over the weekends without proper compensation. even if the compensation is given & you utilize it, it won't be approved by the head thus resulting in LOP. all because we have an unrealistic release plan for the product. Every question/doubt asked, acknowledgement or noting down things from a meeting in Jira/Teams will be met with heavy hostility. once we noted down somewhere, Tomato becomes Tomâto. the reason given would be - "I said this, he/she must have misheard it.". this hostile behavior is encouraged to a level where QA is getting scolded for raising a bug ticket even with screenshots & screen recordings.
