Toxic workplace, micro management and many ego's

Pros

They are very successful (but this comes at a price to their culture). Their senior leadership team know what they are doing, good methodology and relationship building with clients.

Cons

It depends on the office you work in, but either way, leadership are egotistical micro managers. They come across as forward thinking, modern and having a positive culture during interviews and early stages. Then you look behind the curtain: - Sexist remarks to a female colleague 'picked up and taken seriously' but in reality that person hits their targets, so nothing really happened - No trust: recruitment consultants treated like children. During lockdown, management forced everyone to stay on camera when WFH - If you do well, you are rewarded both financially and culturally. If not, expect to have your mental health and confidence ruined - You have to be 'in the circle' to get along. If you aren't willing to be a boisterous, competitive person who puts performance and ego over cultural values, you won't last long

We appreciate all feedback as it helps us to make improvements because as a fast growing, young company we don't get everything right, all of the time. As one of the founders of the company I can speak confidently about what we're trying to achieve, and the type of culture that we aspire to. Micro management is not something we support, we have also received feedback previously which suggested that team members sometimes felt they needed more structure and support from their Team leaders, particularly during periods of remote working. Of course this, undertaken becomes subjective, one person may interpret structured objective setting as micromanagement, whilst other may find it really helpful to track individual progress daily (recognising that the big successes sometimes seem distant). As most of our hiring is at Associate level, we have a duty of care to make sure that the team are given adequate guidance to help them achieve their objectives, but we are also aware that in this case it can be interpreted as 'recruitment consultants being treated like children'. During onboarding every new team member receives a career development tracker, illustrating very clearly the milestones that need to be met to advance, and last year we saw over 35 promotions in the business. We feel this showcases the open & fair pathway allowing people to progress and get along. We kept a company ZOOM Meeting present throughout the working day during lockdown in order to try and create a sense of togetherness, ongoing feedback suggested that people enjoyed the interaction and felt they had a team around them. We recognise that some people may have viewed this as having to be 'present.' We operate in a demanding sector, the role our consultants perform is demanding and we understand that this is not for everyone. Thanks again for the feedback.

Absolute scammers, do not ever work for them. Their clients are always more important then there own employees

Provide good trips and parties. Good insurance

Cons

No flexibility, working from home to cater for individuals needs. No diversity, all white leadership and it shows in the culture.

Thanks for taking the time to share your Saragossa experience, we're disappointed it's not more positive. Diversity, Equality and Inclusion is something that we take seriously and we recognise that we have to work harder to meet our diversity goals, particularly in terms of gender and ethnicity. We have rolled out subconscious bias training throughout the entire business in 2024, have worked with our 3rd party recruitment partners to share our goals and believe that we are making progress. With regard to flexible / remote working we are very clear at the outset that we favour office based working where possible, on the basis that it supports our learning & development initiatives and collaborative culture. We recognise that for some people and organisations hybrid or remote working is preferred but for our team and our vision we choose to work locally together as much as possible. In situations where circumstances affects this, we're always flexible - recognising the challenges life brings! We are trying to deliver accelerated business careers where the reward is high and the demands at early stage can also be considerable, we will take feedback on board and aim to be clearer around managing expectations moving forward. It's good to know that the trips and parties provided (to foster a sense of togetherness) were seen as positives. Good luck with your next career move.
