Pros

50% off sushi! No family meal for this money making scheme of a restaurant.

Cons

This was hands down my worst restaurant experience in NYC, I am still triggered by it today. They are incredibly discriminatory and coincidentally would only promote Asian people to become servers. Their promoting system is completely subjective and based on race. They hire you as a "Host" however you seldom host. Most days you are food running or bussing aggressively. The environment is completely bland - they discourage conversations and enjoying yourself (Except for management, hypocrites) You don't make tips in this incredibly high paced environment and there's a severe wage gap between bussers and servers, the latter doing less work with a robotic monologue and earning at least $10 more an hour. The management is condescending (for no reason) and devalue you and your labor. The management and servers have created a social circle and if you are not involved, you are not wanted. Absolutely a waste of time and terrible for anyone's mental health to work here.

Pros

Coworkers are nice, that’s pretty much it

Cons

This isn’t a restaurant, it’s more of like a snobby McDonald’s, They treat you terribly and has a toxic work environment, out of all the restaurants in New York to work in don’t choose this one They don’t care about you You are completely replaceable to them They only care about money and not their workers Everyone is replaceable Feels like a cult, talks about “family”, staff seems brainwashed Other restaurants pay better, less work, and treat you better

Pros

-50% off menu for yourself only (which still comes out to over $20 for a decent meal) -Decent starting pay for hosts. Not so worth if you factor in tips for servers at other restaurants. ($10 +$6 bonus for host; $13 + $8 bonus for servers). -Will hire even if you have no restaurant experience -Health insurance for managers and above

Cons

-Decent starting pay, but you work for every penny. -No tips. Instead they use a "bonus" system where 30% of your paycheck can be taken away at manager's discretion. -EXTREMELY biased when promoting. They will tell you they promote based on "Positive Attitude", but really it's entirely manager's discretion. If they do not like you, they will abuse you. -Terrible hours for employees. They carefully planned the hours to overwork you. Management will not hesitate to ask you to cover or take on extra shifts when convenient for them. If you refuse, good luck getting promoted. -Don't expect to get any days off outside of your schedule. You have to trade your free days with someone else who is willing and get it approved by the manager. If you are get sick, or can't come in for any reason, the managers will hate you, because that means they have to cover your position. They don't hire extra bodies, only what they need. If you don't come in, you lose your "bonus". -50% of the customers will be entitled and mainly connected to the upper management, so they will treat you like trash too. You are expected to suck it up and be "guest orientated". The owner, Lele, will abuse you in the open without care, because if you speak up, he will gladly fire you. Owner and management mentality is "everyone is replaceable". I was trying to explain the specials we had available to his table, but Lele wanted to save the good items for himself/profit, so when he heard me tell his table that we had albacore belly available, he grabbed my arm extremely hard in his way to tell me to shut up. The pay will not be worth the stress you will go through, but if you are really desperate for a job, you can experience the culture for yourself.
