Pros

None. If I could give them no stars I would.

Cons

The leadership there is a joke. They promote people who have little experience in sales and do not promote or give bonuses to those who are successful. The environment is very toxic and they threaten you if you ask too many questions or provide constructive criticism. There is no path for growth here (even though they tell you there is). The pay is horrible, they have no processes in place for anything. It’s utter chaos and all they say to make up for it is “ thank you for being flexible”. You basically are doing the job of 5 people for the pay of 1 because no one takes ownership of their responsibilities and again because there are no processes in place. They kept using the excuse that they were a start up and that they are in the growing pains, but if you want to be taken seriously as a leading provider of curriculum then leadership needs to take a deeper look into how they do things and actually change and implement process that work not a quick fix. There is no 401k match and they literally only have 1 person as the hr rep for the entire company. You can’t trust HR to keep your conversations in confidence. The leadership completely does not care about their moral values or ethics. They lied to their customers, forced sales reps to add products customers didn’t need to increase the sale, they made sales rep add to their pipeline to inflate it, and would lie to their own employees. They hire people for jobs that aren’t even posted ( which is illegal by the way). You have to get it in writing or it’s not happening. Management is TERRIBLE! I’ve never been so micromanaged in my life. They do not trust their employees to do their jobs so they in-turn make them do busy work. Turnover is so high. They do not answer your questions and always go around it. I would only recommend this place to teachers who need a stepping stone to move or change careers. Get your 1 year of experience and get out of dodge.

We are sorry that you feel this way, ALI has an open door policy and leadership often meets with their employees regarding any concerns or questions they may have. Our sales department has a bonus structure that is given to every employee to look over and sign off on. Thank you for your feedback and as always we will take your outlook and make sure that we stay open and listening.

Pros

The product is excellent and is continuously improving. There are a few awesome employees that will work as a Team. Compensation was fair.

Cons

Do not think this is a long term position unless you have figured out how to be in the clique. Some Managers are just good at fluffing their way through and will outlast you by keeping the light off of them. It does not matter how hard you work you will not have tenure unless you meet your quota year 2 (does not matter how close you are to it, must achieve it) this is there expectations, but they do not consider the market change. If you have a difficult territory, be prepared to be kicked to the curb. Also, you must be willing to lie to make it look like all is good. I am bitter and disappointed.

Pros

They have a flexible work schedule with one work from home day.

Cons

The specific team I worked on had an incredibly toxic work atmosphere. It's like high school. There's a clique that thinks they run the place and I guess in a certain respect, they do because upper management does nothing to stop them. People are all to eager to push blame on everyone and bully versus taking responsibility for their lack-luster contributions. The pay is terrible, title changes take denied even when your job description changes, no opportunities for growth, and no 401k match. There are managers who are not qualified for their job making decisions for the company that are ruining the product and the culture. Unless you love chaos, I wouldn't recommend working here.
