Pros

Get to work for a Michelin Star restaurant! Generally, the customers LOVE the place.

Cons

Absolutely brutal management. Expected to work UNPAID hours. Write ups unrelated to actual incident. For example, if your late for you "volunteer hours" you may get written for stocking improperly since getting written up for being late for unpaid hours is ILLEGAL!

Pros

I can't think of anything positive or healthy about working there.

Cons

Matthew Accarino. If he isn't out riding bikes somewhere out of town then hang your head low and beware of his wrath. An abusive and horrible person.

Pros

Michelin Star, You can learn more about wine, though you’ll need a pretty solid foundation just to start

Cons

The Chef/Owner. Extremely abusive. He reminded me of my father, you just never knew what was going to set him off. He would harass and degrade staff members. You would have to explain to guests that there was only a certain way they could order and if there were any special requests the answer was almost always no. Even if it was a reluctant yes, that would very bad news for you because you would have to face his wrath for that extra slice of prosciutto, which, believe me, wasn’t worth it. He’s been sued by so many people that have left because of that. The ones that stay operate on a fear culture and you have to tiptoe around his ego. When I started I wondered why no one would talk to each other during setup or any other time really, the place was just quiet and stale. Then I realized that since the place is so small you’re always in earshot of Chef and if you say the wrong thing, which could be anything, you could potentially suffer, so people would learn and eventually they would rather not say anything. Sorry, but if you’ve ever wondered why they’re always hiring, that’s why.
