Toxic and unprofessional work environment

Pros

Remote working, helpful team mates

Cons

CEO is abusive, regularly changes his mind on what’s expected and/or doesn’t brief things properly, and makes it impossible to keep up. Yells at and humiliates employees both to their faces and behind their backs, including in front of team members and clients. Workload from constant ad hoc tasks causes burn out and stress. Micromanagement to a crazy degree and some senior members of the team pushing for a culture of public naming and shaming over small mistakes. No HR or anyone to turn to that isn’t either afraid to speak up or ready to gang up on you with the CEO.

Pros

There are none. The SEO Managers are amazing. The team in general are great and eager to learn. That's it.

Cons

Everything else. The CEO is horrible to the team. There is no structure or processes in place at all. The CEO and his little sidekick don't want roadmaps for clients to be implemented, and instead overload everyone with adhoc tasks meaning you're unable to actually deliver any quality work. The CEO is vile, hostile, abuse, aggressive, and does not like change. He gets people in for a month or two, and then gets rids of them once he has lots of ideas from them. He then forces them out of the company, claims he fires them, and then calls them the weakest link on a company call every morning. Avoid this place at all costs.

Pros

remote working, nice team members

Cons

A boss (CEO) who is volatile and abusive. Frequently puts down team members in front of other team members and clients, and when someone quits calls them the "weakest link" even sharing memes of it in the Slack work chat. No proper HR department so no one to turn to besides a business manager. Has unrealistic expectations, lies to clients about what the team is capable of delivering and when, and gets angry at the team when they are trying their best to suit his needs. Frequently tries to normalise the insane turnover of staff by saying those people aren't cut out for it. Anyone who tries to improve the business or points out the toxic culture or ways to improve are seen as troublemakers.
