Pros

They actually do have plans that are custom made and do help clients in putting more money in their pockets.

Cons

During the job interview, you are in a group setting and you yourself may get 20 seconds to say your piece and you're basically hired right off the bat. What made me frustrated is that they made it seem that you would start getting the money flowing (after discovering its not base pay, it's ALL commission based and no paid training) almost immediately after training, but unless you want to force yourself onto people, not everyone will be as lucky as others. My location, people are not easily trustworthy, so unless you know them personally to get you started, you are not going to have much luck. It's not until later in the training process that they will say it's pretty common not to get ANY sales (which means no money) the first month. This isn't what I signed up for.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. In reviewing our job advertisement, interview presentation, interview scripting, and training content, we ensure that every step of the way our candidates understand that this role is a 1099 independent contractor role that is commission based. We will look to add even more opportunities into our process to reinforce this throughout the process. I have also reviewed our training content regarding the item on "it is pretty common not to get any sales" and actually train our teams that we have a 50-60% successful close rate on deals, but yes, you are going to get "no" that other 40-50% of the time. Our close rate is one of the best in the industry and we have multiple reps that are earning a great income due to the diligent focus of our National Sales Managers. Again, I apologize if that was unclear in any way and will work with my team to ensure we continue to refine and enhance the content we present to our Representatives. Thank you again! Best, Michael Offutt VP, People & Performance

Pros

- Energetic company that has a passion for improving its employees both professionally and personally through daily group meetings, frequent extended advanced training classes, Q&A with senior staff, free training classes, after hours seminars, one on one shadowing and ride along training with senior sales staff and managers. - Double confirmed appointments are set by a high quality marketing team that cold calls businesses so the reps can focus on sales and have a solid starting point for each day to organize their day. Highest earning employees also pursue businesses on their own via door to door visits. - Travel costs such as one or two tanks of gas and excellent hotel accommodations are largely covered by the company when a representative chooses to work in a different market area / city and marketing focuses on lining up appointments for them in that new area. - Employees are not micro managed and employees can choose to work as much or as little as they choose too. - A draw is an option for employees that need a money to get started & is largely unneeded if business is pursued by the representatives and the company sales process is followed as they are trained to do. - A family type of community environment has been developed through a social networking / text style chat room, video conferences, and friendly group competitions that makes this sales position feel like a group activity. You don't feel alone when selling for Riverside. - Great opportunities for advancement exist and the company hires management almost exclusively from existing pool of account executives based on their merit, performance, and dedication rather than their college degree or interoffice politics. - Income is virtually unlimited in its potential if you work hard, work smart, and follow the process set forth in training. Employees that don't thrive are usually failing due to a lack of self motivation or a refusal to follow the companies training and ethical business practices. - I started at the entry level Account Executive position within this company and was promoted to Territory Manager after about a year of a consistent and solid income from the customers I signed which resulted in not only a fair upfront commission but also in a great residual income from the accounts I've signed. - There are a lot of perks often freely given by customers I've signed such as a deal on a vehicle I purchased, free food at some of the restaurants, free mechanic services, and a network of business owners that will help find referral customers for you because they are so happy with the service & savings Riverside provides them. - I get to travel if I want to and see places I could never have afforded or had the opportunity to go to previously. I can also make good money anywhere I go if I ever choose to move for family or my if my spouses employer requires it. For this last reason, the position is perfect for the spouse of an active duty service member.

Cons

- Study, Practice, and dedication to perfecting tonality and scripting is a must to see optimal success. - Not a job for those people not willing to put in that extra time to learn the material. - A commission paying job but I have found this to be a positive thing because it allows unlimited income potential and keeps me motivated to go out and help more businesses. Residuals take about 60 days to kick in but the upfront commissions pay very fast and make a monetary advance / draw something that's not needed after about 10 days. - Highly competitive industry that requires an ability to not take rejection personally and also requires the ability to approach each new appointment with a fresh mindset and positive attitude to be successful. - Requires self motivation to be successful and many people have found it difficult to self start. The company provides lots of encouragement but this job is a "must have self motivation" and "must have ambition" to be successful. - Most expenses are tax deductible but regular vehicle maintenance and some office supplies such as pens, a clipboard, and a phone must come out of the employees pocketbook before the commissions start coming in... I considered it the small monetary price for incredible success but some people may consider it in the 'Cons' column.

Thank you very much for your glowing review! The breakdown you provided for your job description and how positive the smaller aspects of your position are are definitely appreciated. Using the tools and training provided by Riverside to go out and master your goals takes a lot of self motivation, we agree, and unfortunately the position isn't made for everyone. But for those, such as yourself, that push themselves and trust in our processes here at Riverside, there's no limit to your success! We take a lot of pride in our programs and training for our agents. In writing your review, you took some issues that others may find to be cons and discussed how these are not necessarily a negative thing. Seeing the benefits in our programs and goals and in turn putting those into positive effect in your own daily goals leads to success. We appreciate that you are so determined and prepared to advocate for your position. You are a fantastic aspect to our culture and family here at Riverside.

Pros

Provides a cost savings incentive towards business owners on debit/credit transaction rates. Can guarantee savings compared to said business owners current bank/msp that handles processing transactions on business owner’s behalf.

Cons

Boiler room environment. I was told I was working a sale position that pays $22/hr. Come training I was then told I am a 1099, no salary, straight commission. Not what I signed up for! Very deceiving. ! I voiced my concern of how I was mislead and conveniently, they offered me a position in the office. More deception: First day at the office, in-person training I get told that it’s $15 an hour! “$22 / hour is the equivalent that you’ll earn with commission,” more deception. During my time in the office I was told I must stick to script, make phone calls non-stop, all while being put on the expectation to make goals in setting appointments. I was fine with that, but I also had leads I developed through my own network that were local that I wanted to pursue. I was told initially I could do so, but then after the 2nd week, the environment changed from supportive to hostile. We were being harped on about attendance. People were coming in late. For whatever reason, half way into my third week, I got told by my manager’s assistant that I would no longer work in office, but I could continue outside sales. I wasn’t happy with that, due to the fact that the reasoning behind my dismissal was due to my “tardiness,” despite the fact that two other employees on the same morning came in 30 mins late smelling like marijuana. Yet I got the hammer? Doesn’t make sense.

Thank you for your review. Our performance-based incentive programs are quite lucrative and exciting and we are pleased you feel the same. On the training side of things we have recently in the last 6 months implemented 3 new booster training courses and mock appointments to assist our representatives in refining their skills and capabilities. We also have open office hours each week with our Learning and Development team to provide an additional resource in our Corporate Sales Trainers. We are constantly looking for ways to provide more resources and support and if you have any further suggestions, please feel free to email us at peopleops@riversidepayments.com!

Pros

Freedom flexible. Trainers are really nice

Cons

Everything about training and actual work is all planned out to make management the most money. Quotes and bonuses that was promised never got met. My entire training class quit within a month. We were working non stop but our checks never matched up to the work we were putting in the field. Genius manipulation

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We appreciate the feedback on our Learning & Development team, we are proud of the work they have done to create engaging and fun content for our Sales Associates to learn. Our training curriculum is structured to hit multiple different learning styles as well as cover content that is required by regulation. Our sales methodology is built on making YOU the most amount of money possible because Riverside cannot succeed unless you are successful. We reviewed the training class that you graduated in and I can say confidently that over 75% of those folks are actually still with us and signing deals! I am not sure where this information came from that everyone quit, but we were definitely sad to see you go. Thank you again for sharing your feedback, we do appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and will be sure to continue to refine our processes to help both our team members and our customers make and save money!
