Pros

Ok salary for Croatia. Multi cultural enviroment.

Cons

Totaly incompetent not existing top managment. Compay changing strategic planing ecery six moths. HR support for employees not existing. Lot of people on high positions without any relevant previous expirience. Project managment and project planing worst I have ever seen. Lot of overtime by default which is not being paid. Fixed collective holiday. Flexibile remote work only exists in theory. Ego driven culture, colegues will undermine others just so they can look better. Communication on really bad level. People who gave high ranking obviously are local and didnt work anywhere else so for them is the best company ever. But reality is than peoole are only extinguishing fires. And it is only matter of time when they will not be able to do so and fire will burn all to the ground metaphorically but also in reality considering employees taking cuts on HSE.

Pros

- Salary as a foreigner is decent/ok for Croatian standards - Foreigners get a decent compensation package which includes relocation assistance and an additional housing subsidy on top of your normal salary - People you will commonly work with are all very pleasant and smart, a good crowd - Work can be interesting/challenging at times - Decent flexibility to work from home and scheduling vacation etc - Good experience to put on your CV

Cons

- Salary for Croatian citizens is terrible considering the caliber and high reputation of the company. I am a Croatian citizen on a foreigner's salary as I moved here from abroad and even still I am struggling as Zagreb is absurdly expensive to live in with the salary I receive. - The workload is very inconsistent, sometimes you have too much work and sometimes almost nothing. This also applies to how interesting or challenging the work can be. - I get the feeling sometimes that the top-level management has absolutely no idea what they are doing and make seriously stupid decisions with company organization and finances. - In over 2 years of being here I have seen very little progression of my career here, no salary increases at all and no promotions. & this is not to say that I am not putting in the effort, its just the culture of the management here. They will often just keep pushing your career progression off to a later date and keep delaying. This is the part that irritates me the most, I see very little here in terms of my future of growing my career both financially and responsibilities. - No paid overtime. This is absolutely stupid. This should be illegal. The amount of people I see here that work ridiculous hours of overtime and don't get paid even a cent for it is just terrible. The management either needs to ban overtime working or start paying people for it. - Company organization and structure is bad. Too many people doing nothing and too many people doing too much, no balance. Too many managers and not enough real employees doing real work. - The turnover rate of employees is very high and employee satisfaction is quite low

Pros

Free coffee and occasional remote work (although this perk was later canceled)

Cons

As I reflect on my time at Rimac Technology, I can't help but acknowledge the prevailing influence of egos in the workplace. It's no secret that egos play a significant role in our professional lives, but at Rimac, it often felt like they were the driving force behind many decisions and interactions. In this highly ego-driven environment, it became apparent that both leaders and employees had egos that were sometimes larger than life. These inflated egos often dictated the direction of the company and the way individuals approached their work. As a project lead, I faced the unique challenge of working with team members who resisted following my instructions due to the sheer pride of their egos. It was disheartening to see talented colleagues undermine the collaborative spirit with their ego-driven actions. Similarly, dealing with managers who were reluctant to change the company's outdated practices because it threatened their own egos was a recurring frustration. It's important to note that not everyone at Rimac Technology was solely ego-driven, but it was disheartening to see that many people prioritized their personal agendas over the goals of our projects. This imbalance hindered progress and collaboration, making it difficult to achieve our shared objectives. Despite these challenges, I believe that acknowledging and addressing ego-related issues is essential for personal and professional growth. It's a reminder that success is often a collective effort, and by putting our egos aside, we can foster a more inclusive and productive work environment. In conclusion, my experience at Rimac Technology has been both eye-opening and challenging. While navigating the ego-driven culture presented its fair share of difficulties, I've also learned valuable lessons about the importance of teamwork, humility, and collaboration. Moving forward, I hope to see a shift towards a more balanced and goal-oriented workplace culture that benefits both individuals and the organization as a whole.
