Pros

The people I worked with were pretty awesome

Cons

Where to start? The management is completely toxic at Rapid Rtc. If you get caught on your phone, better watch out. You'll be pulled into a room and given a strict talking to about how you're on company time and you shouldn't be texting your wife. They say they're agile, but they actually use what's called "safe" agile which is this horrible framework that's waterfall, but pretends like it's agile. You go into these huge, useless meetings quarterly and plan out the next 3 months of work. But guess what? That's not how agile works, so what ends up actually happening is the plan goes to crap, we scrap the entire thing only to go into another meeting, wasting everyone's time again to come up with another plan with no ability to pivot whatsoever. Innovation here is a complete joke. You're working with ancient code bases that have horrible practices and absolutely no standards. You'll see things work one way in one section of an application, then you look at another section and since someone else wrote it, it works completely differently. Production issues slip by all the time because of these awful practices, and while peer reviewing is done, it's almost always just a "yeah that looks fine" and gets the rubber stamp of approval. The QA here is like nothing I've ever seen before. They will spend months on regression testing their application, only to let bugs get through anyways. The tooling they use for their QA is completely off base, thought up by someone who clearly was put into a leadership position but shouldn't be. Only recently have they realized the value in automated testing, something that should have been done many years ago. The deployment process will make you want to rip your hair out. The tooling used for the deployment process is inadequate at best, leaving you working until 4am on deployment nights. The performance reviews are basically digging for information they can use against you, pitting everyone against each other in this 80's management style. The best part is that the leadership of this company will get up in front of everyone, tell you that things are absolutely amazing, we are making record profits, you guys are doing such a great job! Then, two weeks into a global pandemic they lay off 35% of their company. The daughters of the company manage to keep their jobs, but screw the people who bust their butts off for the company. STAY AWAY. I regret the second I moved to rapid rtc. They will tell you that the culture has changed here, that they used to be a bad company, but now they're all better! They will put good people like Brittany and Mike in front of you to make it seem like the company is better, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM!!!

Pros

Co-Workers, the only thing Okay in the hell, but I feel bad about the good people still there.

Cons

FYI: I have been in the industry for more than 20 years, and it is the WORST company I have been working to in my entire life, totally regret the day I accepted the job offer...I wish to have the Delorean and be back before that day... My list would go enormous, but I will put down here what made me sad: 1-There is no procedure, everything they know is in people's heads, means you need to find answers by yourself, and you will be guilty if you can't... 2-Agile in that place is a joke, they think they know what Agile is but they have no idea what they are doing, similar to another review here, the Safe thing they are trying to implement is SOMETHING between waterfall and something else, but not Agile, they plan the work for 3 months but they don't know what the priorities are and keep changing your desk work hourly or even minutes... 3- Micromanagement: Watch your step if you get there, no cell-phone, no outside work chats, no conversation with your co-workers. Keep your eyes on your screen and don't move...they have cameras around inside the building, every corner, and the executive keeps watching everyone steps and screens, I SAW IT (unbelievable). 4-Micromanagement: feedback meeting is a nightmare, the focus in on micro-tasks you perform daily, not in constructive or employee growth objectives. For me, the feedback is a way they find to fire you once you are no longer useful, so this is a red flag for you to go and find a new job. 5-A co-worker (Immigrant) was criticized for the level of his/her English skills. But the person passed for the Hiring process, have been working for a year, and then the issue is English level? so I will leave to you the conclusion... 6-Fire for favoritism: I see two or three cases that Great employees were fired just to give or keep someone else (Friend) job, terrible... 7-Low salary average: they take advantage of newcomers immigrants with low wages, just look at the salary review for your reference... 8-There is some kind of Management racism, if you suggest ideas you are discouraged, if you try again, good luck in your job,..., for me the high management have fear for losing their high wages and will always discourage you to provide an idea of changes... 9-Old style mgmt, from the 80s or 70s, far from be a leadership environment... 10-The same from another comment. Keep saying everyone is going Great with records of profits and its Linkedin page is just good stuff, but just one or two weeks after COVID thing they laid-off close to 40% of its staff.

Pros

There is literally no pros here to comments.

Cons

BEWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM RAPID RTC... They make you feel welcome and part of the team, encourage you to speak out etc but when you do, then you are in trouble. The employees are asked to submit reviews here on Glassdoor, and pressure you to give them a 5* and write good comments. Lots of bias from the executive level. If you are family with the owner, then you are promoted but if you are not, then you are a slave. They also run this charity crap, if you don't contribute then you are fired. Supposedly this charity is very close to the owner to help kids, which he claims for his tax and people just applaud of his fake goodness, he just wants his picture on a piece of newspaper, get a 2 min fame and feels good about himself.
