The culture Transparency Some management On March 9th, 2023, while on my eight week of maternity leave (my son was born 1.13.23) I received a call from my then supervisor and one of the Co-founder’s of the last company I worked for and surprisingly I was laid off due to “elimination of my remote position.” Per both of them, the decision was hard, but had to be done, and they decided to do so several months prior to 3.9.23 😕 Transparency: I was livid, angry, shocked, but most of all hurt. I had a complicated 2nd pregnancy and delivery (which my boss knew about). I have been battling with “baby blues” ie constant worrying about my children which triggers contestant crying, gestational diabetes, and an obvious hormonal imbalance. The call shook me to the core at that moment, but it didn’t break me. After the call, I looked at my son and thought, the hurt was beyond worth it! I am definitely a wife and mother before anything and I will always stand on that!
