Pros

None I can think of

Cons

No growth opportunities Company doesn’t trust employees within the organisation, hires managers with no life who think they make a business impact but they actually make zero impact and they just don’t get it , weird managers Zero promotion opportunities, even if the company gets a chance to promote they won’t because they don’t care instead they will pay more to outside employees

Pros

Nothing to list, too bad. See below.

Cons

Toxic management, condescending approach, no people skills, disrespectful and rude. HR no help with the situation. Management and HR very good at pointing fingers at people who they don’t like. Sacking people on the floor in front of everyone. No healthcare, no pension, no sick days paid, only 21 days annual leave. If permanent and changing roles within company, you are put on probation again. Avoid.

"Let's have a Trial"

Pros

The majority of the QA team were super helpful and very engaging.

Cons

We were brought into a meeting by the CTO in April that the company had decided to do a new "trial way of working" for the dev team and if successful then it would mean the QA team would have to have it's team sized reduced. Apparently this decision had been made in February but we were only told in April. This resulted in the QA team not being allowed to test anything and also meant that everything was instantly being pushed to production without the green light from QA. Major red flag. When asked why they decided to do this trial we were told that a board member of PrepayPower was also on the board of Ryanair and he suggested we their way of working. This sounded absolutely ridiculous. but we had no say in the matter. The QA team were left totally in the dark when it came to this "trial", from not being told how it was going to not being told when it was going to end. This resulted in the QA team now internally "gatekeeping" product knowledge from each other which is never a good move. The reason for this is that they felt as if they were protecting their position within the company. Overall I was very disappointed in the lack of transparency from all of this. It led to unneeded stress and anxiety.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We appreciate your honest feedback. We do recognise changes can be difficult however they are necessary in a growing business. Transparency and open communication are critical to our success, and we regret if you were unclear about the situation. The trial you have referred to was a proposed change in the way we work which has the potential to make our processes more efficient. We aim to foster an environment where everyone feels secure in their roles and is empowered to contribute meaningfully and we believe these changes were fully transparent with start and end dates. If you have any further concerns or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to bestjobs@prepaypower.ie.
