Pros

-Outside of executive team, the people are great. -Company had a great run in 2017. -Drones are fun. -The industry is exciting and growing fast.

Cons

-First of, the management is constantly harassing employees about leaving good reviews in different places (like here), so take everything good that others posted with a grain of salt. -I have heard of at least 2 possible complaints about sexual misconduct by director level employees from current and former employees. -2 months ago they let go of 1/3 of our office, and amongst them some of the most loyal and talented people that I have ever worked with, to bring in 3 new companies with decent portfolio, but with a lot of people that are turning out to be somewhat incompetent. -The company is hemorrhaging money and, instead of being fiscally responsible, the executive team spends an ABSURD amount of money with Hotel and Travel for members of the executive team, who commute from DC, NY, VA and CO. All that while regular employees are being laid-off and having salary raise requests denied. -It is nearly impossible to get a pay raise, and promotions are not really an option. -There are 3 of the advisors to the CEO that have no idea how to run a team and how things actually get done. The CEO himself, does not understand what happens in the day-to-day inside his own company and constantly relies on information from the wrong group of people. -The HR team only reacts to everything bad that happens instead of being proactive. -Everyone I know is actively applying somewhere else.

First off, thank you for taking the time to write a review. We strive to be a great place to work, and we recognize that this year has been one full of transition. The drone industry is ripe with opportunity, and, to that point, it’s evolving extremely fast. You’ve heard the saying “building the car, while driving it.” Well, being a part of a truly transformative industry comes with lots of starts and stops. A few steps forward, a few steps back. Over the past two years, we have placed a lot of bets in order to grow. We doubled down on what was working and made real time adjustments when needed. As the industry evolves we are constantly learning and constantly improving to keep up, and all the lessons learned will be critical as we prepare to conquer what’s ahead. I’m sorry to hear about your feelings regarding management. We are focused on improving transparency and communication across the organization. We have implemented dinner with the CEO where once a month 5 to 7 employees get a night out with our CEO to have meaningful discussions and ask the hard questions that are weighing on employee’s minds. The Human Resources team has started doing individual check-ins with every employee. We have regularly scheduled all company meetings where we highlight what is happening across the company. I hope one or more of these avenues provide you an opportunity to have open dialogue with us. We value our people and know that growing your career at a company like PrecisionHawk will be a tremendous experience. It’s extremely challenging and rewarding. We appreciate your feedback.

Pros

-Decent insurance and vacation policies. -Certain directors and GMs really know their stuff. -Some awesome (but under-appreciated and underpaid) employees work there.

Cons

-No matching 401K -Management has absolutely no idea what they're doing. They've far surpassed the startup timeline, but still very much call themselves that because they have the industry knowhow and leadership of an infant company. -With their somewhat recent purchase of Hazon Solutions and massive surge of investment money, the company shifted much of its investments and focus into the energy vertical of the company. Little research was done by management and sales teams before singing contracts expanding pilot manpower, which resulted in mass loss of investment money and a very angry board of directors and investors. -Rather than holding upper management accountable, the company chose to take it out on hard working pilots (among other employees) via mass layoff. Those pilots surviving the mass layoff were given the opportunity to stay as temporary employees (they can stay as long as the project that they're assigned to lasts). Vacation perks are getting taken away, incomes are cut, and they were told that PH would no longer pay for their travel expenses (which is BS because the entire job consists of travel to different locations on a day by day basis). -Dozens of pilots that had recently moved to central PH locations (Raleigh, Virginia Beach, Folsom) for full time employment were switched to temporary employees, which essentially means that they uprooted their lives for what they were told would be a permanent and stable job in one location with occasional travel, only to be told that they now have to live 100% of their time on the road. -Expenses by employees lower on the totem pole were under constant scrutiny, while upper management got by with expensing lavished dinners, nights out drinking with their crews, and expensive hotels and retreats.

Be very wary of this "company"

Pros

* Very smart and talented people used to work here, they have all since quit or been laid off. Pay attention to the reviews on this website, you'll see that within the last year things have taken a very swift dip south. To anyone considering a job here: my advice to you is to look elsewhere.

Cons

* If you're reading this review considering applying for a job here, run away fast. They'll sell you on a cool startup culture with nerf guns and happy hours but it's a facade. The entire company runs on drama, it's like a middle school except millions of dollars are being thrown around to see who can give themselves the biggest party or the biggest bonus. There's a reason this company's reputation in the industry has spiraled downward and continues to do so. * The way the "management" runs this company is terrifying. False promises for clients and employees alike. Questionable morals on every level and a culture of corruption that spreads throughout the company like a disease. * Very frequent layoffs with no warning and done in a very public and unprofessional manner. Layoffs can occur to anyone at any time so if you plan on working here, always have a backup plan. PH will easily lay off huge chunks of the company all at once which heavily affects the flow of projects, sales, and client interactions. There seems to be little forethought about who is eliminated each time. Be prepared to explain to your clients why half the team working on their project is suddenly gone. * Seemingly exorbitant spending from the upper management. From the employee perspective, it feels like PH prefers to spend its money on expensive after-parties, huge booths at conferences, fancy dinners and drinks, and high-end hotels instead of putting that money towards the actual "product". This is very off-putting when you're an overworked employee barely making ends meet with your "startup" salary. From the employee perspective there seems to be a lot of extreme mismanagement of funds. * Very poor work/life balance. Most people work 50-60 hours a week minimum. Most departments lost many of their workers in the last few rounds of layoffs or they quit so pretty much every department is understaffed. Do not expect any recognition or a raise despite the amount of work you're handling. * Poor company culture. This company, in my opinion, facilitates a culture of fear, drama, and corruption but hey, at least there's a foosball table.
