Passionate team, but leadership struggles hinder progress
Pros
The people were by far the best part of working here. I had the privilege of working alongside highly skilled, dedicated, and passionate colleagues who genuinely cared about the organisation's mission and the people it served. The cause itself is worthwhile, and many employees go above and beyond because they believe in the work being done.
Cons
Despite the strength of the team, the organisation struggled with leadership, direction, and follow-through. Employee feedback was regularly sought, and there were frequent discussions about improving culture and ways of working, but meaningful change rarely materialised. There was often a disconnect between what was communicated and what was ultimately delivered, particularly when it came to employee experience and wellbeing. Priorities and objectives changed frequently, making it difficult to maintain momentum or achieve long-term goals. New initiatives were regularly launched but often not fully implemented before attention shifted elsewhere. This created uncertainty, frustration, and a sense that the organisation was constantly reacting rather than delivering on its strategic ambitions. While there was a desire to move forward and improve, a lack of consistency and follow-through made it challenging to see lasting progress.
