Pros

-unlimited pto -some great people work here. -some interesting customers that bring food learning experiences

Cons

-Employees are asked to come on here and leave reviews. Specifically the ones who the company knows will kiss butt -Company does not consider inflation, true industry standards, bonuses etc. Further, if you move to a new city, expect a pay dock. They like to nickel and dime you where they can, regardless of your true worth. -No 401k match. Excuse is “we are not profitable yet” but we do books for numerous companies who have no profit, yet they are contributing to 401ks. Just another excuse. Also, no transparency into the health of company financials. We only hear how well the sales team did for the month. -Sales team can get away with anything and they get paid commission. Best paid team out there, get the most praise, though they aren’t the ones doing the work. They should be doing books to understand what they are selling. -Hiring anyone who sticks, but blames capability issues vs capacity issues. It’s both and then some.. company will continue to bring on new customers without the back office to adequately support it. -Lies during interview process on promotion and growth in the company. -Prides itself on automation and tooling but constantly brings on highly manual customers that are not a good fit.. as long as the “price is right” -More times than not, our poor customers are sold on Pilot and we can’t deliver. Then it ends up being wasted $$ on customer side and wasted efforts on our side. Company really needs to solidify its processes. -Health insurance is paid for but coverage is terrible. Just paid $166 for an in network dentist visit. -pay is terrible

Pros

- Great coworkers - Great healthcare

Cons

- Employees are overworked and treated like robots - Managers get no manager training and consistently act in racist and oppressive ways that go unchecked - There is no clear process for growth in the company - Even though there is lots of social justice language - there are almost no people of color in any leadership position - The unlimited PTO policy is very limited and seems to only be unlimited for white people

Pros

Some really smart, kind, and empathetic people across all teams. Flexible working environment.

Cons

Leadership has done a great job of hiring talented people. The problem is that the founders struggle with letting go and allowing the people they hired do what they do best. They’ve done two rounds of layoffs in 2023 and the business is still struggling to grow, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there is another round of layoffs coming. The founders made all the decisions about who would be laid off in the last round, rather than consulting individual’s direct managers or other leadership. They eliminated entire teams including the Infosec team (shocking considering they hold so much customer financial information. The founders are very smart people, no one can deny that. Yes, they’ve had success selling their previous two startups, but those companies were tiny and not anywhere near the scale of Pilot. If Pilot has any chance of succeeding, they need to let go and trust the individuals that they hire, especially those in leadership positions. These people come with years, some with decades of experience in their particular function, and know what they are doing. The founders come from software engineering backgrounds, not sales, marketing, information security, product management, design, finance, HR, IT, recruiting, or facilities.
