They Have No Clue What They're Doing... Sinking Ship

Pros

5% 401(k) match, 99% employer paid for medical/dental/vision plans, employer contributions to HSA, able to WFH a couple of days a week, a few social activities planned, although those stopped even before COVID hit.

Cons

Don't be fooled, the "new" management that past posts have mentioned is so great or "visionary" is in fact, the exact opposite. This place is extremely poorly run and is hanging on by a thread, squeezing money out of their aging Boomer subscriber base who are too non-tech savvy to understand how to store their photos with a different service that is much more secure and less expensive like Google Photos or iCloud or even Amazon Prime. Where do I begin? They've been saying they're transitioning to a new site for TWO YEARS yet the old site is still in operation, thus they have to manage 2 sites. They don't understand their own data, haven't been collecting/ storing enough data on their customers, and rely on CONTRACTORS to be the experts. They literally have contractors fully in charge of their database and dashboard reporting (which there were BIG errors only spotted in the reporting earlier this year. For a 17-year old business, you should be embarrassed by that.) The COO who joined in 2014 is fiercely loyal to this team of contractors he's been working with for years and they are more protected in their jobs more than FTEs at this company. The problem is the contractors claim to have "been doing this for a really long time" but they're wildly incompetent in so many ways, and incapable of handling any sort of constructive criticism. The COO defends everything they do, so you're SOL while he's still around. The CEO gives lip service to employee's ideas, then does whatever he wants. He's a classic textbook full-blown, childish narcissist, there is no use in trying to have a worthwhile conversation, you would be wasting your time. The worst part is how the company treats their most loyal customers. When the site was down for 4-6 weeks in Dec/Jan (yes, you read that right... because it's 2020 and Photobucket wasn't operating in the cloud yet), they decided to not offer refunds, but offer one month free in the future... but only to certain cc paying customers because "it's too difficult/ impossible to do credits via Paypal or iTunes" for those customers. Like, what?! You can't figure out how to treat your customer right, so you're not going to bother trying? And these customers paid for your service for over a month when it wasn't usable? Highway robbery. Don't walk, RUN away from this company! They hired 9 people in 2019/ early 2020 and already laid off 22% of their small staff of 18 by July 2020. Just extremely poorly run with empty promises and low morale. (Also there is NO WHERE to eat lunch near the office building @ STEAM on the Platte. Must bring your lunch in every day or pay double for delivery.)

Pros

Travel was great! I traveled coast to coast. Seen several different states in all kinds of weather. The desert in the winter and Montana in the fall all very beautiful.

Cons

Being the only female technician in our shop I had to prove myself to the operations manager each time we got a new one and we had four in the six years that I worked there. The job is basically a man's world they have a hard time accepting women in the field. They also don't have much employee loyalty.

Poorly run company

Pros

work life balance is the best thing about the company, if you don't want a high level of accountability and want palace where you can pursue other jobs on the side this is the place for you!

Cons

leadership is self serving, there is no designated career path for most employees. Worse, this is a company on decline. There is a clear bias towards certain individuals and departments.
