Pros

I worked at Parkbench for more than two years. I met several lifelong friends. Most of whom were fired, or who quit.

Cons

The two cofounders who run the company, who also happen to be husband and wife lack empathy, compassion, and the ability to see people as human beings. They sell their prospective staff on ' The Parkbench Lifestyle", which sounds fantastic, however, nothing they say is true. What the " Parkbench Lifestyle" actually means is: - Consistently altering commission structures which directly impact the sales staffs monthly income - Zero work life balance - Contractually employed to work from 8:30 - 5:30 (which is a 9 hour day, but staff are only paid for 40 hours a week - you do the math), but expected to work through the evenings and the weekends - Constant communication from the cofounders that tend to be rude and unprofessional at whatever hour they please - Shame when you attempt to take a vacation day (often this is used against you) - Changing of roles and responsibilities that are often accompanied by unrealistic expectations and unattainable goals, but failure to hit said goals equates to being dismissed - When the female cofounder decides she doesn't like you (which is unpredictable and takes place often) you can anticipate that your job is on the line, or responsibility will be taken away from you when you've done nothing wrong. - Impulsive decisions that tend to impact the staff negatively, but the cofounders positively - Proactively getting every promise in writing, including anything to do with pay etc. because they will always try and go back on their word and deny making those promises The cofounder's are the reason why so many of their exceptional staff have quit throughout the year, and why their churn rate is so high. It's not the sales industry, it's their ridiculous and unattainable expectations, and impulsive and irrational decision making.

Pros

The company is profitable. The company is expanding. Parkbench had some great people. I truly learned some amazing things. The developers were sweet. The interns great! And most of sales reps were lovely! The founders are hustlers and they have a great work ethic.

Cons

I am really hurt when I read the positive review that said, "Those who fail here have failed due to a lack of effort on their own part. Simple as that. Stop making excuses. Failure is a choice and it is a lack of commitment to oneself. This is reflected in those who review this company and the co-founders poorly." How could you say such things when employees gave their best to this company. We worked over time and on weekends to accomplish the goals of the founders. When the ministry of labor came to the office to investigate, no one turned the founders in, even the unpaid intern did not press charges. We truly cared about the founders despite their wrong doings and verbal abuse. Yet with all the verbal abuse and illegal employment standards, you still blame your employees? After they vouched for you and worked their hardest with often no monetary compensation. I know that you have to make your reviews look good for so that new employees come in but asking the remaining sales reps to say that there were no cons or that we are failures when there are clearly things wrong, that is very wrong and I am disappointed. That was low and it really hurt us.

Pros

The best thing about working at Parkbench is the time between when you get hired and when you start.

Cons

So many I'll use bullet points. -Bully tactics from owners -Poor product that no one uses making it impossible to build up an account base -Micromanagement -Owners fight in the office -No off work time - always getting pestered at inappropriate times -No benefits -No long term employees -Dramatic motivational speeches -No job security -No growth potential -Having to lie to customers to make sales To anyone considering working here: The owners make up their own positive reviews on this website. There is a recent one where someone turned into "a top performer in 6 weeks". Who talks like that? I'll tell you who - the CEO. They owners do not care about anything other than their own profit and will bully everyone around them to try and bring it about. What's funniest of all is that they actually think these reviews are all untrue. They think they are so hip and so cool and so helpful and that its everyone else that's the problem.
