Pros

Great stepping stone in the world of Saas, complex and well designed software it used to have a brilliant team

Cons

legacy of older processes and redundant services, disjointed staff and knowledge. New Zealand team was brilliant and always lead the way compared to the rest of the world team, which unfortunately was not consistently good.

Here lies a once great company. RIP PGi.

Pros

Was once a great company. A really great company. They still had a core of loyal and hardworking people that made it a decent place to work.

Cons

Sirius Capital recently sold PGi to another Private Equity firm (CEO Rick Mace, was “delighted” to tell us about it on email on his way out the door). The new owners immediately changed severance policy (which had been 1 week per year of service) to nothing. They then proceeded to lay off all the loyal and hard working people that made the place decent. Like 100 people in the last 2 days, including engineering, sales, Global Service Management, SE’s, product, and support. People who worked there for 10, 15, or 20 years. They all got nothing - no 2 weeks, no medical for a month, no severance, nothing. PGi has had layoffs in the past (a number of them) but they always tried to do their best to give people a soft landing. For all intensive purposes, PGi is pretty much a dead company.... Consider this as an obituary.

Great friends, horrible company

Pros

I have made great friends here at PGi over the past several years, some of whom have moved on to greener pastures. My direct managers and the other department heads are all very nice, friendly, and helpful.

Cons

This company is dead in the water. Upper management is turning the screws on us hard. Every perk we used to have has vanished. Benefits are horrible and decreasing fast. Flagship product was canned. CEO is an idiot who begged us to stay at the company then turned around and announced more layoffs. No way to advance anywhere. They pay $30k below average for every position except management and executives. With nobody being hired our workload has tripled year over year. We have received no compensation for this. There is no culture here, period - there are only people afraid for their jobs. PGi does not value its employees at all, especially employees that actually contribute to the success that they do have.
