Cons
I was hired as an HR Manager at this company. I worked for only 3 months, and in the 4th month, I was terminated. I will explain the reason below. During my time there, I was the only HR person managing all HR processes. Cons about this company: 1. **No Labor Law**: The company owners and directors do not follow employment laws. 2. **Limited Leave**: You cannot avail of leaves as per employment law. Only a small number of staff work in this organization, and it is extremely hard to get paid leave. Even if you need leave for genuine reasons, you will be considered a bad employee because the directors do not follow any rules. 3. **Favoritism in Management**: The management consists of people who are favorites of the directors. Whether they do right or wrong, they are always protected. For example, Junaid at Ovaisco works as an Account and Operations Manager, but he has no qualifications in accounting and is a very toxic manager who interferes with other departments. 4. **No Job Security**: If they want to terminate you, they can do so at any moment. 5. **Delayed Salaries**: Salaries are always paid late, after the 15th of the month. 6. **No Salary Increments**: There are no salary increases. 7. **Toxic Environment**: The work environment is unhealthy and negative. 8. **Low Salary Budget**: During my 2-3 months as HR Manager, I hired more than 5 candidates. However, Ovaisco’s salary budget is very low compared to the market. They want to hire professionals with 7+ years of experience for salaries ranging from 30k to 40k. If I manage to find someone, they ask me to offer 10k less during the probation period to "evaluate the person’s performance." If I convince the candidate, they still claim the budget is limited and tell me to follow their instructions. Finding qualified candidates with such a low budget is extremely difficult. 9. **Heavy Workload with Low Pay**: You will be burdened with a heavy workload while receiving a very low salary. 10. **Food Allowance Issues**: The company provides food allowances to the watchmen, but the payment is always delayed. The guards regularly contact me for clearance of previous month’s food bills. The process is to pay the previous month's salary between the 15th and 20th of the next month, and only after that will the food bill be cleared. 11. **Limited Staff and Delayed Payments**: There are very few watchmen at different sites. If one is on holiday, you must manage through other sites and pay the guard’s fare. Then, you must submit the bill for director approval and wait for months before getting reimbursed. 12. **Manual Processes**: All processes are manual. While you may think you can handle everything, the corrupt system will not allow you to work efficiently. All management decisions are based on favoritism. 13. **Outdated Technology**: The company uses old technology, and there is no dedicated tech department. If something breaks, it takes months to get it fixed. For example, I reported an issue with my laptop, but it was never addressed, and I believe it will never be fixed because they don't have funds. 14. **Appearance vs. Reality**: The building may look beautiful, but internally, the atmosphere is dull and disheartening. Chairman Saeed Sahb is a visionary person and a good man, but apart from him, the entire system is corrupt. 15. **Why I Was Terminated:** On Iqbal Day ( public holiday ), we were required to work. Mr. Junaid, who is usually late but favored by the director, checked attendance and posted in the WhatsApp group about fines for being late and absent. I politely disagreed, explaining it was a public holiday and fines weren’t appropriate. He responded rudely and later told the director I wasn’t following orders and was supporting employees. Junaid then secretly hired another HR person with Elaan’s help. At Elaan his brother is director. At Ovaisco he is the director favourite.
