Pros

Optus fosters a workplace culture that prioritises inclusivity, personal growth, and professional development. The company is committed to creating an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated, and employees from all backgrounds feel valued and empowered. Through initiatives like employee resource groups and inclusive policies, Optus actively promotes equality and belonging. Additionally, the organisation encourages personal development by offering a range of training programs, mentorship opportunities, and clear pathways for career progression. Employees appreciate the support for skill-building and the emphasis on internal promotions, which motivate them to grow within the company. This focus on inclusivity and development not only enhances employee satisfaction but also drives innovation and collaboration across teams.

Cons

Optus promotes an inclusive and growth-oriented culture, celebrating diversity and offering development opportunities through training, mentorship, and internal promotions. However, it can seem to some the promotion process unclear and desire more structured career planning and feedback.

Pros

Reward and recognition are at the industry's top level. Many pathways for career progression especially if willing to relocate to Sydney. Good culture and good teams. Very progressive company with implementation of Agile and other methodologies.

Cons

Must be adaptable to change and uncertainty as restructures occur multiple times a year across many departments. You must proactively ask for the right salary and grow your profile. Some roles are highly pressured with tight deadlines and multiple demanding stakeholders.

Pros

If you can sell well, you have fantastic commission opportunities. Great staff to work with for younger adults. All your work stays at the office, no take home work.

Cons

If you cant sell well you will achieve minimum wage. Can be treated badly for low sales results. Unless you live in Major cities no career progression.

Pros

A great intro into the corp world. Competitive salary. A really nice portfolio of projects youre able to work on. Great employee benefits

Cons

Only will keep you on the program if they have head count and a role is not promised after the program like its said in the contract. They waste your 2 years of potential and then break the promise of onboarding grads as professionals. Additionally, they cut your tree of growth as its quite hard to find a corporate job in this market when the only professional experience youve had is a graduate program. They couldnt care less, and make you do work above your grade only to abandon you and not the mentorship and employment oppurtunities that are promised.
