Pros

NoRedInk has a supportive, collaborative, and hands-on work culture. The salaries are good, the benefits are great, and the coworkers are very fun!

Cons

The company has big plans for the future and sometimes they don’t communicate with everyone the vision.

Pros

Over the past two years, NRI has gone through meaningful change, and it truly feels like we’re on the brink of something great. The team is deeply committed to the product and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure we’re delivering the best possible experience. There’s a strong emphasis on work-life balance, with unlimited PTO that’s genuinely encouraged, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to be part of a mission that’s making a positive impact on students’ lives.

Cons

Pushing changes can be challenging and often takes a long time to implement improvements.

Pros

Flexible schedule, there were some really cool people who used to work here and a few still remain. Cool holiday gift for Christmas.

Cons

*the headline* is the quote the CEO would share and laugh about in meetings when validating the reactive chaotic environment they never seemed to want to remedy. There is no DEI program as they kept blocking the DEI group from implementing anything they planned even if no budget was needed and despite complaints and pushback. Check the teams page on the website, many people on the page haven’t worked there in a long time, but they keep them on the list to hide the turnover from all the firing they do. Sometimes they even add temporary contractors as well. You’ll also notice if you review management’s profiles on LinkedIn that some of them switch roles frequently, often times taking on roles they have no experience in. Additionally, many employees are made to take additional tasks or their roles shift without any change in pay, as the company has said many times they aren’t hiring to back fill for a lot of the roles they’re laying people off from. This includes support, engineering, product, and marketing roles (I swear go check and if you’ve recently been hired ask the older employees I bet they’ll tell you) When the new management restructured a couple of years ago the entire culture shifted from a space safety to severely toxic with no management accountability anywhere in sight, but they’re happy to point fingers at others as they fire them without warning let alone coaching- while creating narratives around poor performance or hostile behavior that no one who worked with them ever saw. There’s a heavy amount of manipulation from management to hide how much the company has declined and hasn’t been making a profit for more than a year now (they said this in an all hands before a long slow series of quiet layoffs that after a year are still happening). The pay is low, the company used to pride itself on making space for teachers to progress their careers and make more money, but that’s not the case anymore as HR said verbatim “go back to teaching if you want a raise” after hiring us at a capped rate without telling us until a year later during our EOY reviews.
