Pros

Salary is regular and position is stable mid-term. The company provides internal and external training in the field of work and covers the expenses of industrial certifications. The company provides extensive time-off, a parking lot and free coffee.

Cons

After company owners left the executive positions, new management failed to transform the company from a family business to a corporation. With seniority as the only measure, senior employees promoted to management and mid-management positions are not up to the challenges they face, lacking the engineering, business and leadership skills. Faced with the recent recession and a steady fall of revenue senior management is trying to grab as much as possible for their own pockets and the dissolution of the values has led to a grim culture and low morale among the employees.

Pros

Decent salary for Slovenia. If you are half-capable you can quickly climb up the salary chart.

Cons

Unhappy with leadership and company's priorities a lot of people left the company in last two years. The good news is that CEO and CSO are gone. The bad news is that nobody knows what the future will bring. Company needs to re-stock at least 30 engineering jobs within a couple of months and that will either result in poor quality or overpaying for talent. If first, company will lose customers. If second, an unbalance will be created between new and old employees.

Pros

If you want to score quick gold in next 6 months, join the company. They will pay amazingly well trying to save the ship, but don't expect it to last long.

Cons

I could write an essay but I will let the fact that 40 people including top 30 engineers and architects quit the company in march 2019 speak for itself. Management is so unbelievably bad that it is amazing they managed to hide the issues for years.

The fact is that 18 full-time employees announced their resignation in April 2019, approximately 10% of the total staff. It is true many of those leaving the company expressed their dissatisfaction with the management. In recent few years, NIL’s business expanded significantly, many new colleagues joined the company. Unfortunately, the attention to people was not increased accordingly – and overall priorities were not always set correctly. But the fact also is that several measures were taken to improve that. The HR team was expanded a few months ago, different programs introduced to improve the corporate culture, concrete steps taken. People are listened to much more. Their opinion is taken seriously. We are therefore thankful for every sincere feedback and opinion. We sincerely regret these initiatives and concrete steps didn’t convince the colleagues that decided to leave in April. Nevertheless, we remain strong, positive, passionate and confident about the future. NIL has new owners, a respected IT company, known for high employee engagement and customer satisfaction. The owners are actively involved in the development of supportive leadership and together with the new leadership team determined to make NIL the best place to work. And on a more personal note: I just recently joined NIL as the HR Manager and I can honestly say, I have never seen so many hardworking, knowledgeable and passionate people in one place. A place that has so much to offer: amazing people, meaningful and interesting projects, friendly atmosphere, focus on work-life balance and also competitive packages.
