Pros

Great salary Modern office Good pension scheme Good benefits

Cons

IT infrastructure was poor in my experience, but isn't it everywhere! Poor conduct from senior managers at Head Office left me with serious concerns which I nearly reported to the regulator Very cliquey and lacked diversity and critical thinking experience - it seemed like everyone had worked here for decades and had no clue what it's like elsewhere! And they didn't want to hear about it either. Insular thinking - a bit behind the times Lack of autonomy as a manager Overall, quite a weird experience and an unusual place

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and for everything you contributed during your time with NFU Mutual. It’s great to hear you valued the salary, benefits and working environment. We also appreciate you sharing things you weren’t so happy with. We want NFU Mutual to be a place where everyone feels respected, included and able to speak up. We take concerns about conduct seriously, and we always encourage colleagues to raise anything that doesn’t feel right through the routes available to them, such as their people manager, HR, or our confidential Speak Up process, so it can be looked into properly. We also know that reliable technology, welcoming diverse perspectives and giving leaders the right level of autonomy really matters. These are areas we continue to invest in and improve across the business, and feedback like yours helps inform that work. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

Pros

Salary is competitive Pension scheme is pretty good Hybrid working

Cons

Disparity in how people are treated - some people are required to work in the office more than others for no apparent reason. There is a real ‘PLC’ attitude and culture here - the basic message is ‘please do the impossible’ (without the ‘please’). Not very friendly - people keep themselves to themselves, there is no real collaborative working here. The office just isn’t set up for that. IT functionality is outdated and unreliable. It’s a bit old fashioned - there’s no ‘bring your pets to work’ here folks, no trainers in the office, no fun at all, it’s the sort of place where people bring a notebook and a pen to a meeting! Management aren’t keen to listen to opinions. Lots of ego.
