Pros

The company has focus, growth and works to make the best experience possible for each employee, despite position or title. Everyone knows how to work hard and get things done, but they also know how to have a great time. I love the exciting buzz throughout the office with people working with customers and having a great time doing it. The offices are brand new and everyone has great equipment to work with. We have free lunch every Friday where everyone gathers and we talk about where the company is at, where we are heading, and how we can each contribute to get there. There is also a cereal bar and fruit available to everyone. In addition to the material things, people here really believe in what they are doing and are working together to make things better.

Cons

The company is in a growth mode, so there are still things/systems/processes that are still getting figured out. Sometimes this is a bit difficult to work with, but it is totally understandable based on how new things are. Things are improving more every day.

Pros

Most of the time, believing you are helping people and learning how to leverage sales is a great skill to cultivate. However, expect this position to be one based on numbers and craftiness and less on actual IT skill or technical aptitude. One of the reasons I left was because of the integrity of other employees. I couldn't keep a straight face when I wasn't succeeding at sales while being honest while others were using less than ethical practices to extract money, although many were college students struggling to make ends meet so I completely understand their predicament. But, that's no excuse to deliberately or even ignorantly misrepresent software/hardware underpinnings on a computer to a potential paying client. That was a negative of the company culture, where there was no enforced ethical guideline to follow. Anything went" when I was there considering misrepresentations and omissions of technological facts was commonplace among employees with operational level agreements (OLAs) presented in meetings. Hopefully they have changed this by now.

Cons

"Certification" was being used as a weapon to spearhead credibility, but it is a loose word that can or cannot actually mean anything in the real world. Fear was a tactic used to "get people to take positive action". People do this sort of thing all the time, especially at auto shops where they see the most minor issue, and suggest a whole vehicle overhaul. While legally permitted, it is not exactly ethical. A business is indeed responsible to shareholders, and struggling college students indeed need opportunity in Utah County. Is this assessment unfair? As someone A+, Project+, and now ITIL Certified, I can say it is an extremely fair assessment of the situation. These certifications actually matter. Every client I come into contact with in my new area of employment is my brother, and not a potential sale. I would hope Myfastpc now treats its clients the same, and they can certainly clarify that they do. However, it takes one to work there when I did to make this evaluation.

Pros

Free lunch every Friday, no micromanagement, paychecks every week, flexible hours, PTO starts accruing immediately, fantastic health benefits, really approachable HR staff, CEO walks around and introduces himself and asks how you're doing, free cereal all day every day, plenty of fridge space, pool table & ping pong, breaks when you need them, opportunity to really help people, swag bag when you first start, opportunities for pay bonuses, awesome atmosphere with a range of different personalities.

Cons

No crosstraining...not really a con in terms of the job, but it does make for some awkward situations from time to time.

Pros

Good people around, great training and teachers. Seemed to be a good product.

Cons

The way we got people's numbers was sketchy. (Google adds) So it made for a tough sale when customers found out that we weren't with Gmail, Yahoo exc.

Pros

You get experience working with computers

Cons

Most customers are getting ripped off, they specifically target the vulnerable/old people, which a lot have memory loss/dementia. Sales are taught that they should be selling every customer they talk to, which means even if the customer doesn't need it. If the customer thinks they are talking to their internet provider, sales will be reluctant to correct the customer of who they are with. They changed the pay structure 8 times in the almost 3 years I was there. Basically, it's changed once people go through all the hoops and figure out how to do well with the current structure, make you learn a new way so that you go through a struggling period so they can pay you less but give you hope by having a good pay-out once you get to the top of the new system, just to make you start all over again, after you do make it, by changing it. They understaff and burn their employees out then replace them. If you want to move up in the company you better become friends with management because that is who they choose for promotions. Friends, not experience or tenure.

Pros

Friendly coworkers and nice office space.

Cons

Everything. Your job is to sell people a service that they don't need. The salesmen are trained to flat out lie to potential customers through the entire phone call. The management advertises that elderly people are the main customer base because they are vulnerable and trusting. The company has put a large amount of money into SEO, so that when people search for help logging into their email, they will be given this company's number. 90% of the people I talked to were old people who thought they were calling AOL. Once you get on the phone with the lead, you walk them through a "diagnostic program" which tells them about "potential risks" to their computer. This program will result in warnings and scary red symbols 100% of the time, even on a perfectly healthy computer. This "diagnosis" is the biggest lie of them all and it was painful to work for a company that bases its profit off of the vulnerability of senior citizens. I felt like I had to go home and take a shower after work every day. If you are considering working for this company, I recommend you go through their training, then afterwards, independently verify every piece of information they give you. They don't only lie to their customers, but they lie to their salesmen as well. If the salesmen believe they are doing a good thing, they are more likely to stick around.
