Don't fall for it

Pros

There are some wonderful, kind, hardworking people who will get far in the industry once they get out of there.

Cons

- Salaries are extremely low and almost never paid on time. Raises are promised but never given while the CEO goes on expensive holidays two times a month. There is a bonus scheme in place that was never clear and we wouldn’t receive bonuses even when we were told “this is the best month ever” in sales. - Upper management does not know how to properly manage a team. Zero transparency on very apparent financial issues with the company, leaving everyone concerned about job stability. - Certain issues were dealt with snappy attitudes rather than just by having direct honest conversations. If you have any questions regarding your late pay, missing pension payments, promised raise that you never got, etc. management will give you the same scripted response and scold you if you ask too much. Some of us are still owed our September pension from last year. - Unethical, predatory and misleading business practices. Even if you care for the artists you are working with you will be forced to lie to their faces if they ask certain questions. Some of the work is genuine, but most of it feels like an elaborate sham to scam new emerging artists. I really wanted to believe in the company’s long-term strategy, but as time went on I realized more and more that the only thing the owner cares about is making a profit at the expense of hopeful artists with a dream and some cash at hand.

Pros

- If you only view this company as a short-term paid internship for music industry experience then you will be ok... - You will meet some great people with a shared love for music

Cons

- Little to no credibility across the music industry making it difficult to generate opportunities for artists - Little room for real career growth although you will be promised this at your interview and performance reviews - Overworked past your agreed roles/responsibilities and working past your contracted hours under the guise of being a team player with zero reward - The marketed company successes from the past few years have been created from individual efforts of hard-working employees who are unlikely to still be there for obvious reasons, don't be fooled thinking this is the company standard! - Having to constantly defend immoral and unethical practices on behalf of the company when dealing with artists/clients (who you are meant to be empowering) such as over-promising results to generate sales and unsurprisingly under-delivering on them due to the lack of resources and industry clout - Unrealistic statistical and monetary targets stressing out employees - Consistent late pay with no warning from CEO or senior management. Beware if you have fixed outgoings. - Missing pension payments that you won't get any clarity on when asked about - CEO is all over the place posing as a music mogul, but in reality, overstates the diminishing company value to the music industry with a typical boomer mindset of sales sales sales etc.

No sense of direction, zero honesty

Pros

The team that work alongside you are great, and some of the managers are good too. I'm not sure if this is an act to keep your trust or they're genuinely that naive.

Cons

You won't receive your pension payments into your pension, despite multiple promises of them being paid "this month" or "very soon". Your salary is received in random instalments. Try not to have any important bills, this might annoy the MD if he has to actually pay you. You won't have any sense clear of direction so can't plan your days. You'll have a plan that is instantly ripped from you by confusing priorities. The MD will have more holidays than you are able to have hot dinners so this seems to be where your salary is going to, rather than to... you.
