56% positive business outlook
Pros
Good atmosphere. Great Management team, constantly trying to improve.
Cons
You have one hour break between 01 and 02:00 pm. No possibility to change it while most banks and offices are closed in the meantime. Salaries are often received the last day of the month,...or after (happened once)
Pros
Good atmosphere , good salary and nice office
Cons
The turn over is to quick
Pros
Great team, cool company events.
Cons
Terrible management, low salaries, bad conditions.
Pros
- Learning: the company doesn't know where to go, which gives you a great opportunity for learning, getting more experience and having more responsibilities. - Amazing people you may ever meet in your life. Movinga is all about the people in it. Sadly they're leaving one after another. - Free Workshop about Micro services. - Flexible hours. - Nice, friendly and understanding PMs. - International team. - Employees events. - Kudo cards ( introduced by our Scrum master ). - Free Yoga course. - They announce your name in "All-hands" when you have an accomplishment.
Cons
- Future: we have a road map that we don't follow, we don't know what may come up next sprint. PMs are just like developers, have no clue who will leave their own teams and what we will do next because of the always and sudden change in requirements. - Decisions: you don't know who is making the decision or the direction of the business. PMs? MDs? or investors ? No arrangement with tech people before making the decision, giving promises without knowing if tech can really do it in that deadline or if it aligns with their current situation. - Pressure: People with deep knowledge of the business are leaving one after another and teams are getting smaller while requirements are sill the same. - Transparency: always claimed by Management, but it's not true and everyone who works there knows that, all the given speeches and promises in "All-hands" events are just lies and nonsense. They always act in contrary of what they say. - Going backwards in time: Movinga was a mess when I joined. We had a very good time, a revolution, when we had the Scrum master, after he left things got worse and Movinga is back to chaos. - Not professional any more: Company is driven by opinions and MDs imagination, and not by customers' need. It doesn't even try to keep authentic people who originally built the company and were with it in its first steps. - Noise: simple thing like noise, it can't be stopped at a company, they can't even make a rule and tell people to book a room if they want to talk for more than 10 - 20 minutes loudly. - Arrogance: we have two layers of developers. People judge others by personal choices like IDE for example, people there are treated based on their salaries, it they earn more, they would be respected more. - Salaries: they don't have a range for "years of experience" , it's up to your negotiation skills, if you are bad negotiator you will end up taking the less salary in the company and no body will give you more if you don't ask. - Hackathon : it should be something good, but unfortunately it was understood wrongly by the management and they wanted a one week idea to be on live immediately besides all other old work, which drove things in a very bad way and ruined the "road map" and "teams" as well. - poor communication - A few women in Tech. - "Firing" Events ( Bulk firing ) : They had three firing events so far. In the first one they fired more than 200 people in one day! because they decided to close the international market. In the the second one, they fired a whole team because they are no longer needed. In the third one, they fired 8 people from the Tech team because of cost reduction requested by investors. They have the most ridiculous way of firing people, they usually gather people and do an immediate "All-hands" meeting and say we're sorry, that's not our decision and blah-blah, then the MD (CEO) says: "If you receive an email in the next five minutes, it means you are out, if not it means you are safe! ". After seconds you will not be able to go your desk to check if you got the email or not, because you will have the HR standing over your shoulders forcing you to go the meeting room like you are a criminal or something, they will ask you to sign the termination paper and hand them your computer and key immediately. You are not even allowed to close your personal account on the computer that was with you for the last 1.5 years or even send a goodbye email to your colleagues, they think that people have no manners because "they" don't have manners. They think that people can destroy the company with one click on the keyboard. In less than 20 minutes you are out of the building. You always have the choice to be nice or rude. They could fire people in a proper way but no, they always do that, and the worst part is that you will have your boss lying to your face in previous meetings and pretending that everything is fine and we're doing good. They hire like crazy and they suddenly fire all old people with knowledge and then start recruiting new people again! Personally, after spending all of that time at this place, having two birthday's and leaving in that awful way without even a "Thank you" note or at least 10 minutes speech with my boss, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, even to people I hate! it's a happiness sucker, worst place ever!
Pros
Good and friendly working environment. I met really nice people and motivated working there.
Cons
The management threatens and oblige you to stay more hours than those you are supposed and paid for, without even paying you the overtime. The salary is not that bad but it definitely doesn't worth the stress you accumulated working there.
Pros
Movinga was a really cool project at the beginning. Solid people are working hard to make this company great. If you work hard you can get a good salary. The localisation is cool (ex zalando basement) You will learn the different emotions of being in a company (the good ones to the bad ones). Movinga is working in a strong niche so they would have worked for people.
Cons
Movinga got some problems to manage, Have a real HR onboarding and department No true communication from top management to the bottom No clear goals exept reaching the monthly target. You have the feeling that you can't take one day off because the pressure on your shoulder is too loud. Leaders select people that they like and show it to the rest of the floor. Trusting people is hard here. YourJob can desapear suddenly (for no real reason) but with a little slap on your back and a smile you will forget it.
Pros
Great team, good salary if you're good
Cons
Location is not great but the building is fine
Pros
Your work has an impact on the business of the organisation. You get a lot of responsibility which comes with accountability. Also, you can take as many initiatives as you want, justifying that it has an impact quantitatively, directly or indirectly. No one that comes here is perfect, so making mistakes is natural, and learning through them is more important and expected. You have an opportunity to grow and learn. The environment is very collaborative. Since most of my tasks involve talking to a lot of stakeholders, taking them on board, there is constant need to align the business goals with departmental KPIs. This is challenging as well as exciting for me. Also, there is a good work-life balance. The company is financially stable which is also important for your career. There are people from various backgrounds with transferable skills. You do not have to have an experience in moving industry to work here. You just need to have skills that are transferable to any kind of industry. There are many social activities which I personally enjoy and is a good opportunity to socialise and know people from the organisation.
Cons
Initially, you might feel that people are a bit reserved, it takes a while to break into other circles, especially other departments. Once you do, you are always welcome. You do not get the credibility because you at a certain position, you really need to prove yourself by been assertive and by showing results. Salary is bit too low. Sometimes, things slow down due to changing hands every few months, this also leads to slow implementation.
Pros
Some good engineers that currently leaving Movinga, because of uncertainty and instability in the company.
Cons
I was laid off the company several days before my trial period is over. Along with other engineers and PMs (8 people overall). Company has no clear vision on how they want to develop the product and they hire a lot when they have money, and dismiss people when they have problems with investors (hello rocket internet). That makes your position in the company unsecured. They really good at firing people to cut their expenses. This happened before, and will happen in the future. Finn Age Hänsel (one of managing directors) lied to my face that my vacation will be given me on top of my salary and I don't have to go to the office the rest two weeks, so I can spend more time looking for a new job. But then they just said I used it. Even though they took my laptop and office key on the day of dismiss.
Pros
Free drinks, nice colleagues and atmosphere
Cons
Hierarchy horrible, terrible decision making, weak salary
