Pros

Good industry defining product. You get to work with very smart and talented team members.

Cons

This company is nothing short of a dictatorship. It's unreasonable to expect not to have to work hard, but there is essentially no reward for keeping your nose to the grindstone. It's not even a meritocracy. There is nothing wrong with high stress environments but potential for personal or career growth is basically non-existent. Don't even look at this "startup" if you expect to have a positive experience. Senior Management doesn't operate as a leadership role, but rather the CEO's entourage that is forced to validate all her decisions, no matter how unreasonable they may seem. There is also a tendency to micromanage, no matter what group you are in. For example, the CEO asks for weekly reports with personal rankings so she can keep tabs on every employee. It's not meant for transparency, but rather a tool to make everyone's life absolutely miserable. She will personally walk over and actually yell for your report if you don't write one. She has also gotten managers to threaten their group with negative performance reviews if they do not submit these reports on time. This toxic work environment causes even the most level-headed employees to become selfish and play the blame game and throw each other under the bus whenever possible.

Pros

I can't think of a single one

Cons

The CEO is TERRIBLE. She is verbally abusive to her employees daily. She micromanages every single email that goes out and listens to every single call so that she can immediately berate you the second it is over. She sits right next to the door to monitor what time you enter and leave, how often you get up to go to the bathroom, etc. She treats everyone, including management and outside vendors like children, it is the most unprofessional and toxic environment I have ever witnessed. She also forced her management to give positive glassdoor reviews with her right there in the room to cover up all the other negative reviews. The middle management, with the CEO's direction, is just as bad. Employees are required to be in your seat and working by 8:30am, just like in 2nd grade. You are forced to use a day off if you have a doctors appointment, you are forced to make every phone call where they and the CEO can listen and comment. They hire and fire employees weekly, for little to no reason, and no explanation. There is zero growth potential at this company and it's so unstable I would not recommend it to anyone. The product is not a market fit and is priced at 5x the competition. The company has no road map, mission statement, values, or goals. The CEO and management refuse to acknowledged this as they deceive incoming employees about the 'HUGE pipeline'. Don't believe them.

Pros

Good medical coverage is all I can think about

Cons

The CEO at the company is the worst human in life! Forget being a CEO, she isn’t even capable of being a human. She has her two three minions who hate her as well, but wouldn’t speak up in front of her. I’ve had experiences when I’ve gone into meetings with these minions and agreed on something and they’ve had a complete 180 on everything that was decided on because the CEO (with no rational at all) thought it didn’t make sense. The CEO is a micro-manger, will actually monitor the time you come in and leave, how many minutes you spent over lunch and might be even keeping track of how many breaths you take in a minute! Absolutely the worst place to work at!
