Pros

One of the best pay plans in the industry. Intensive training every morning and afternoon which is fabulous for a newbie, monotonous for a seasoned rep. Morrie's personal reputation is stellar as a man and as a business man. You will make 36k plus your first year just doing what you are told. You will make 50k plus your second or third year. If you are aggressive and can close, 100-150k is reasonable.

Cons

The high school clique attitude management has in both service and sales, is childish and detracts from the associates income and coporate in the end. Horrible benifit package that leaves you in debt due to the 4000 dollar deductible that has to be paid before benifits kick in, and the monthly premium is way too high compared to other dealerships. Without the politics, this could be a great place to make a career. But, if you just like to work hard and be to yourself, you will be overlooked numerous times on spoons and other perks. After a while it will bother you as disputes do come up and the winner is whoever's nose is up managements azz. (If you sell 16 units a month disregard the comments on politics)

Pros

Fun company. They really do try to encourage a great employee morale. Most of the leadership did seem to care about over-all morale. Salaries were on par for the market and for what other dealerships were paying for similar positions other than sales. The discount on parts prices and labor rates is very nice when you need work done on your own vehicle, including body shop.

Cons

Support staff had nowhere to advance to unless you directly knew the person in charge of the hiring in that location or office. While leadership cared about morale, individual stores varied with the direct appreciation of the team members. The store I was in, I didn't really feel appreciated for everything I did and how much I sacrificed to help out in areas where I definitely did not have any obligation to. Nepotism is something that plagues all auto dealerships, and Morries is no exception. Hiring from within usually means within the manager's circle of friends and family. Those people get a shot at a position (some practically given one) before you do, if you are not connected to them in any way. General Managers and other management doesn't always see the potential in current staff. When the investment firm bought the company, this seemed to increase more when the 'bottom line' started to really matter.

Pros

Fair health benefit costs Fair 401k match

Cons

Unethical and immoral business decisions made by “Corporate” that negatively impact employee satisfaction. Overcomplicated processes. Zero job security. Zero transparency. Payment plans designed to benefit F&I and upper management and not the person selling the vehicle. Their actions negate their own business model

Morrie's Auto Group Response

Hello! I’m sorry to read this feedback especially from a long-term employee. Our tenure reward program was revamped this year to provide generous gifts to long-term employees in a way that can be more easily managed so individuals aren’t missed. As we get bigger, these adjustments become necessary as our support (corporate) team is very small. Sales payplans are consistent within the store and raises aren’t a typical protocol in a sales environment. If you would like to discuss the issues around process, job security, and transparency - I would look forward to your feedback and perhaps make things better for all our employees! I can be reached at HR@Morries.com Sincerely, Lisa Thornton HR
