Going downhill quickly

Pros

This used to be such a great place to work - decent perks, fun team building, collaborative atmosphere, room for growth. But things have changed...

Cons

The HR team that was brought in, treats their employees like we're in grade school. Flexible hours are a thing in theory but in practice you are scrutinized for actually making use if the "policy". The say open vacation policy but now it actually has a limit of 4 weeks. They recently let go the office manager that had been there since I started and she was the heart and soul of the place. People were so upset that they started a petition to keep her, everyone signed it yet it was ignored. I left on good terms and by choice but I'm just sad to see what's happening to this place.

Thank you for your feedback, and for your long tenure at Modernize. Our culture is our employees, so as our company grows our culture grows with it. We are dedicated to ensuring that Modernize is not only a place where our employees feel valued and challenged, but also a place that they love coming to work at every day. Our employees enjoy flexible hours, and we still stay true to our open PTO with Manager approval. Our Executives have implemented some amazing goals for the next few years, and we are excited as a company to stand behind them in that vision.

Pros

Being able to work from home is nice and the pay is ok. However there are better opportunity's out there.

Cons

1. Change expectations all the time and they are to high. 2. Change bounus structure every quarter. Usually for worse. 3. Change rules and script all the time. 4. They say there don't make cold calls. That's a lie, that's the majority of the calls. 5. When your Quality Specialist checks up on you (at least once a week by the way) they never have anything supportive to say. They always have something negative to say even if your stat's were perfect. 6. Management does not work together at all, and are inconsistent. You hear different rules from different people all the time. 7. Are written up without any discussion over the problem, or warning. Also when I first started working there, their name was "CalFinder" a month later it was "Home Improvement Leads" 5 months later it became "Modernize". So if you want to see more reviews look thoes two up as well. Conclusion the Virtual Agents are treated like recyclable garbage. And they changed their name twice in six months.

5 signs of a bad workplace

Pros

The company is bringing on a lot of smart and talented executives. This could be promising for the future of the company.

Cons

1. Lack of career development - There has not been any program or visible career path created for employees. This leads to lack of growth in the company (unless you are on the sales team). It is rare to see an employee promoted from within. 2. Untrustworthy - The HR department is by far the most unprofessional team at the company. Rather than being there to help empower employee's and foster good employee relationships the team is the root of all issues and drama. The HR department is infamous for leveraging the confidential information of one employee to coax confidential information out of another. The company has great values but they should ensure that the HR team embodies these values more than any other team at the company - after all they are the ones bringing in new employees... 3. Misleading - they speak about a flexible open PTO policy but there are a 'suggested' number of days that you take. 4. The Company Believes Their Perks are Culture - they think they’ve nailed company culture because they have a ping-pong table and offer free catered lunches a couple times a week. Yet, they fail to notice the company morale declining. Don’t be fooled by the perks and look at what the actual environment is like. 5. Bad Reputation - check out the company's BBB reviews
