The tone starts at the top, and the "top" is an extremely figurative term at this place. The CEO has no legitimate management experience aside from working in this company, and he is only the CEO because his father and father's friends fund the company. He never rose up through the ranks and earned his stripes, so has no real management skills and it shows. Savvy senior management figures this out quickly, and if they have any street cred at all, they get out fast. Lower level employees get tired of the churn and the subterfuge. The company has been around over 10 years and never managed to become profitable. How many companies still need outside funding 10+ years in? More specifically, how many are still operating after not turning a profit for as many years? This is simply a vehicle to keep dad's son employed in a senior level role. He would never be here on his own. This is not a place to come if you want to learn from the best. If you want to derail your career quickly, accept a job here.
