Pros

nice startup perks, nice HQ

Cons

I do think the problem starts from the leadership, specifically the leader Frank Fu, who promotes a very toxic, political, survival-of-the-fittest environment. Agreed with most of the comments below about the global team. - The global team is really disorganized, with goals and direction changing constantly. Teams have no directions, and many teams are wasting their time working on the same project with no chance of implementation. - "Recognition and favoritism here is not merit-based - but dependent on your looks and how wealthy and connected you are." - during my time at meitu, there are some employees join the company without necessarily skill-sets for the positions but simply because they have strong family background. - Feeling like a tool being utilized by the leadership, what he cared most was how to make him look good in front of the executive team from HQ, not how could we make the best products that users love. - People with experience quit the job fast or not even bother to join the team since they would easily identify that this is not the place that they can fully appreciate their talent. If you want to stay comfortably in the company, simply make your job look good, not "make your job actually good".

Pros

Meitu has great potential to be a social powerhouse in the beauty tech industry especially with its recent IPO last December. However, there are only a few pros I can share about working at Meitu, and that is: - surprisingly good benefits - daily catered lunches - flex hours - school of hard knocks experience Meitu is definitely not for everyone, especially if you are an American and not familiar with Chinese working culture. But you will become a stronger, harder working person in life.

Cons

Meitu is a Chinese company and has many global offices throughout the world. Coming from the US office, much of the culture, organization, and values are lost in translation. If you are fresh out of college or have very little work experience, you are the ideal candidate to work for Meitu because that is who they seem to hire most. The reason is because you are young and moldable. What this translates to is: - you can handle a lot of work for little pay - you can work at all hours of the day because they operate on China time - you are expected to perform duties that are expected of someone with years of experience - you are expected to work without much guidance or positive leadership - you will conduct business communications through WeChat, which means your phone will receive notifications at all hours of the day because all global teams communicate through the mobile app - you will have to juggle multiple projects at once that may or may not actually see the light of day. Projects can change often, but be expected to take them on anyway. For those who are experienced and looking to work at Meitu, you will probably know right away whether Meitu is right for you or not. For most, it is not right for them. If you currently have a job and are being recruited to join this company, I would recommend you keep your current job and look elsewhere because you likely would be looking for another job shortly after joining Meitu. For the same reasons above, the work culture and organization is simply too dysfunctional for an experienced employee to perform at the top of their game.

Pros

Cons

Horrible management and guidance, VERY disorganized, untrustworthy, and they always losing collaborations because of these things. Not a good place to learn or grow in a career.
