Pros

Opportunity to work abroad and make a salary which you can survive on in that particular country.

Cons

VERY long work hours. Leads to a fast and high burn out rate. Serious concerns about the owner's integrity. I would not trust him about anything, he is out for himself and nobody else. The pay is sufficient for the economic environment you are living in, but you will not have any extra money or be able to pay bills back home on the salary. High stress environment with little to no reward for hard work from the owner, you are just EXPECTED to go above and beyond all the time. Owner sees employees as highly expendable and replaceable. Even if you are a good quality employee do not expect to get a reference, the owner either gives poor references from a form letter or none at all. Unless you build a relationship with coworkers that can provide good references this will not help your reference library.

Pros

Good work being done, good staff.

Cons

Dreadful work environment with terrible management. Long hours on basically no pay. Upper management harasses people on the job and even more when they leave - people are miserable there but get bonuses for writing positive comments. Don't believe them.

Pros

This job is a strong resumé builder because it supplies you with a lot of transferable skills. it also gives you the chance to make a significant impact in local communities, thus giving it a very humanitarian feel. If you're looking to improve your language skills, you'll be close to fluent after the year and half contract. I was already fluent, so it wasn't a major benefit, but it definitely improved my ability to communicate in both Spanish and English. Most importantly, the people that work alongside you at Maximo Nivel are outstanding individuals.

Cons

Exigent clients. The focus is often on client needs. This can affect the part of the job which is most enjoyable: making a lasting impact in marginalized areas.
