Donโt fall for the recruitment โfluffโ and relocate. Poor safety management, too many people getting hurt.
Pros
Quickly saw through the pretence and moved to another employer.
Cons
Got sold on joining with all the โfluffโ but very quickly after started found out the reasons why so many had come and gone. Operations and Safety Management a good talkers saying things like โstringent proceduresโ etc but thatโs just false once checking documents / procedures they are not even signed off, out of date. Incidents are frequent and injuries increasing. Really poor investigations taking place with ineffective and sometimes no Actions taken from the investigations. The more worrying part is the downgrading of incidents so they donโt have to comply with legislation for reporting Reportable or Notifiable incidents to the regulator WorkSafe. This results in the โrealโ incident is not recognised and communicated to the workforce and false statistics being reported to senior management off site. Site safety management only has contract safety advisors on $75-$90 per hour, 12 Hr days (apart from x1) so they can be controlled for the high rate, are made very aware they are on 1hr notice period to falsely look like safety is onsite but really not effective as they are motivated purely to keep the money coming in. This has resulted in site safety management not reporting Reportable and Notifiable incidents to the Regulator to โsave faceโ with internal stats to avoid senior management off site seeing the truth. On incidents that are reported to the regulator false information has been provided to โdown playโ what really happened so that the regulator didnโt attend site and to let them get back to work sooner.
