Pros

- Co-workers are great - Office Atmosphere is great in both Hawick and London

Cons

- Low Pay and no career progression. - Management are not sympathetic and i have seen some managers make there employees cry. - BLAME CULTURE IS BIG HERE. No one take accountability for there actions. - I have seen people disappear from the company after they go on Costa coffee date with the CEO, yes you can get fired if the CEO doesn't like you. - Lyle and Scott in reality have been struggling financially before covid-19. Completely dysfunctional on how they manage finances they take selected employees on holidays (not based on hard work but based on if management like you) and do extravagant seasonal launches abroad. They want to seem 'shiny' with this fake glamours life they are trying to represent to investors but in reality they are really struggling. One example CEO made an announcement that each employee of office has to find a way to make a £1000 as company is struggling and if we did not our job would be on the line! - People with no experience have become directors based on there friendships with the CEO and other directors. If you are someone from a middle class family and can suck up to management and the CEO you can also become a director in a year! -

Pros

Everyone is very welcoming until you realise you’re being mind tricked…

Cons

They have a very funny way of manipulating you into thinking you’re lucky to have a job there. You start the job thinking this is a great company to work for with the many events they put on for employees such as End of Year Awards, Summer party, Q1, H1 etc events, team building days out and Beer Friday. It’s funny how they can put a substantial amount of money towards these types of events/days but not pay their employees what they deserve, what they work hard for doing endless amount of hours and still being told to work harder. They make roles “redundant” but then replace that individual with a different job title but with the exactly the same responsibilities. Because of the overworked, underpaid and toxic environment Lyle & Scott is, they can’t seem to understand why peoples mental health gets triggered and they get signed off sick. … And they wonder why their turnover is high and have to recruit continuously?

Pros

Some incredible people - truly wonderful. So welcoming and great social opportunities. Will learn a lot in a very short period of time. If a favourite of management you will be one of the few to get bonuses, progression opportunities and appreciation. Parts of the company culture. What the company says it wants to be and how it wants the staff to feel is honestly great, and when that comes through it can be a great place to work. Discount on clothes - now have a wardrobe full of L&S.

Cons

Under paid and under appreciated staff - have heard of teams asked for feedback and when they have specifically said that they didn't feel they were shown any appreciation, to have the manager make absolutely no changes and continue to ignore team Empty promises (including payrises that don't come through, changes to culture, support you will receive, progression opportunities) High turnover of staff, and slow to replace. Have seen it take over a year to replace multiple members of staff, and have the work load dumped on others in the team with no recognition. When questioned, told they are still actively recruiting, but no progress made. Support available is department dependent - have seen so many people struggle with stress, and depends who leads your department as to whether anything is done to help. People go on recurring stress leave or end up just quitting, rather then anything put in place to support. Know people who were ignored after they spoke up to defend others who seemed to be seriously struggling Whilst some of management were incredibly supportive, this wasn't a universal experience and some people are really left alone and struggling. Lack of clarity and communication. In line with the high turnover/slow staff replacement/redundancies, it isn't clear who is responsible for what, whether the is additional support coming in and leads to additional stress. Poor work/life balance
