If you are apply to an openings at a higher level, LM won't promote you to that level. Instead you just rotate/transfer to that opening with your original title and salary. Nothing change just your new assignment.

No clear career advancement path. "Fend-for-yourself" approach to career advancement. You are ok if you stay at level 3 or below. If you reach level 4, your job is constantly at risk until you reach level 6 or above. Large gap between older population and younger engineers leaves a knowledge gap that severely needs to be filled.
