Pros

Cool work -- interesting technology and applications, Great people -- get to meet pilots, government reps, and end users. Mission oriented -- your work matters to delivering mission capable abilities to customers.

Cons

Work depends heavily on what program you are assigned. Some of the technology is very old and you will not encounter or use it a lot elsewhere in modern industry. Work comes in waves so is either 0% not doing anything or 100% all hands on deck. The work travel is cool, but again depends on what program you are assigned.
