Pros

Good co-workers Global opportunities Good business sector

Cons

Salary is lower than similar companies will generally offer. The CEO is the majority owner of the company and thinks he can run the business as he pleases, offending employees and treating them like garbage.

I’m very sorry to read this view, both personally and for the company. On the points raised: Lingo24’s history as a bootstrapped start-up meant the company was not in a position to pay market-leading salaries. Since we began professionalising the business and attracted significant investment for the next phase of growth, salaries and overall packages (including share options) have increased markedly and we are attracting more and more top talent. We have much, much stronger corporate governance and have a very experienced Senior Management team of nine professionals across all major functions. We also have market-leading proprietary technology, world class clients and a world class Chairman. Regarding my role as CEO, I think there is some truth in what you say. My most recent review highlighted the need to channel feedback through our management structure, and to pay more attention to communicating sensitively, particularly to grassroots Lingo-ists. I think I’ve made some progress, but know there is some way to go. Our Global MD runs the business day to day now, and I am engaged in meeting with important clients and strategic partners, and making sure that our company evolves ahead of client requirements. I’m also charged with defining and communicating our vision internally and externally. Here’s hoping my increased focus on these areas, along with the appointment of a very gifted management team, are the right steps along the path to making Lingo24 an ever stronger company.

We're all just hamsters in a wheel

Pros

Home office if needed. A few monthly benefits in amount of 100 lei. Medicover care. Loyalty month.

Cons

Looking at the PROs you might think "but that's good, I like that, what's the big deal about LIngo24?". The big deal is that you might like these benefits, but you might also wake up one morning without a job. Nobody is safe, so keep that in mind if you imagine you're special in the company. You are not, you're just a hamster in a wheel. Useless and impotent HR department. CEO is a champion at answering question by saying nothing, just empty words.

I am sorry to hear that you feel this way about being part of Lingo24. It is alway hard to make decisions that involve the restructuring of teams, but these decisions are sometimes necessary in order to keep an organisation on the right path. I had hoped that all the information I shared in communications, FAQ, follow up presentations, open Q&A etc., explained that these were of a strategic nature and therefore the related reassurances on further changes would have minimized such feelings. I am always open to specific feedback on my communications and about our HR team and would be happy to discuss. Andrew

Pros

The only PRO thing I can name is that it's amazing that they still have people working for them

Cons

I don't even know what to start with..It's sad that it had a very good reputation as an employer few years back. Lingo 24 was a "safe place" for professionals that did a good job and minded their business. A few years back it was the perfect company to work for. Then things happened - infusion of wrong people in Management and Board with one goal only: PROFIT. They made this awesome company to go from HERO to ZERO..but hey.. anything for profit, right? They are on a firing spree for almost 5 years now..It really doesn't matter anymore you are legendary at what you do, you can be next at any moment. Funny thing though is that even if you are the founder of the company you are not as safe as you might think.. they managed to kick him out as well.. so how can one hope to still have a job tomorrow if an lower position if the founder was sent away? However, if through a miracle they don't kick you out be sure that you will do the extra work of the people the fired...for the same money as before. Right, another thing... don't expect salary raises.. these are as rare as the snow in the desert or any other benefits..the only benefit you can still hope for at lingo is having a job when you wake up the next morning. Even if they praise themselves to be tech savvy and modern technology wise, they are as cheap as a company can get when it comes to computers and software... be prepared to work on cheap and unproductive machines. Lingo's mantra was always do more with less.. they finally did it.. working out people for less money..but more profit. I wouldn't recommend this company if you want a career or you have a family to take care of. If you respect yourself and your time you will stay away from this company.

I am sorry to hear that you have been disappointed by the recent decision to restructure two of our teams in Timisoara. While these decisions are always hard to make, they are sometimes necessary in order to keep an organisation on the right path. In this case both these decisions, as explained in the communications, FAQ, follow up presentations etc., were of a strategic nature. As the past couple of years stand proof of, we are committed to ensuring our employees have a positive experience with the company and we have each and every year gone through our salary review rounds to make sure we are aligned internally, as well as against the work market. We are committed to reward performance through our annual bonus and our employee share option scheme. We have also added new, additional benefits, through our Flexible Benefits scheme allowing individuals to taper benefits to their needs. In addition to this our laptop leasing agreement has got us away from the position of a few years ago where some laptops were aging, as everyone’s laptop now gets replaced on a fixed cycle. I understand the recent business decisions created some unrest and this is not unusual, but I’d like to assure you that I am open to discuss your concerns, should you be willing to contact me directly. Andrew.
